Isn't this a perfect ‘chocolate box’ cottage? It’s very special – from the thatched roof with its straw pheasants and luxury interior, to stylish bathrooms and a fantastic Hot Springs Hydro Massage Spa – it’s perfect for a family, two couples or a couple wanting a stunning romantic retreat. Ground Floor The vestibule leads to a hallway; there is a sitting room with a wood burning stove, TV, wooden floors and comfortable seating. This leads to a fabulous, elegant kitchen with granite work surfaces and smart cream painted cupboards. The kitchen is very well-equipped and has an electric oven, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a table and comfortable leather bar stools to enjoy breakfast plus there is underfloor heating beneath the terracotta tiles – very cosy. There is a downstairs WC and a rear hallway which leads to the superb courtyard that has seating – perfect for enjoying a cuppa or glass of wine outside – and a fantastic Hot Springs Hydro Massage Spa where you can relax under the stars! The cottage also has a dining room with an original oven range (decorative) plus a wall-mounted TV, with table and chairs for four people to enjoy dinner in these very pleasant surroundings. There is a second WC off the main hallway which also has a shower. First Floor Upstairs is a half landing that leads in one way to a stunning large bathroom that has a double-ended Jacuzzi bath and TV set into the wall; there is a very large double shower - which includes a solarium if you want to top up your tan! - a WC and double hand wash basins. The bathroom opens onto a wonderful wooden balcony that wraps round part of the house. There are two bedrooms, with pretty windows that look out from under the thatched roof, and have original fireplaces, which are decorative. The bedrooms are a double bedroom with a brass bed and a TV plus a twin bedroom with two full size 3’ single beds (the twin beds have Zip-and-Link beds if a second double bedroom is needed). Outside There is garage parking plus a separate parking space a few yards away. Town: The historic fishing village of Runswick Bay is without doubt one of the true gems of the Yorkshire Coast, if not the whole of the UK. This picturesque SE-facing village situated 9 miles from Whitby sits in a beautiful sheltered sandy-beached bay backed by spectacular cliffs and moorland scenery. Relatively un-commercialised and with vehicular traffic restricted, the village provides the perfect setting in which to relax and unwind. Relish in taking long walks on either the sandy beach or along the Cleveland Way on the clifftop above. There is much to do in the local area, whether it's visiting Whitby with its famous Abbey, Staithes with its pretty shops, cafes and superb art gallery, or touring the dramatic North York Moors. The lower village houses a local inn serving food along with a spectacularly situated cafe, whilst nearby Hinderwell provides 2 inns, a fish and chip shop, a local butchers and a garage/petrol station. A Co-op is situated at Staithes 2 miles away.
