Positive: Location of cabin is great, private and rural but close to nearby towns. Large covered parking area, level concrete parking pad is great for little kids to ride bikes. Lots of parking space. Easy access to entry, minimal stairs/steps. Nearby regional attractions. Large rooms and closets, heat and ceiling fans worked well. Light and bright inside. Lots of porch space,with comfy seating. Owner added custom touches of handmade furniture items, BEAUTIFUL custom counter tops, bar and dining table. Nice appliances, even dishwasher available. Showers had plenty of water pressure and water was warm, 2 full bathrooms with ample space, large walk in shower, cutest ever bear toilet paper holder, plenty bed linens/extra pillows provided. Cabin has realistic rustic decor, warm and inviting. Bedrooms all decorated nicely. Wifi & many movie channels available, board games for kiddos. Beautiful fireplace and mantle. Lovely front door. Nearby trails, outdoor seating, fire pit, nice rock landscaping, gorgeous trees at every window view...and a friendly neighborhood cat.
Negative: Upon arrival, rental was apparently double booked online, confusion between management and booking sites, but the friendly property owner, Jerry, quickly resolved without issue. Google map gave wrong house number on directions when printed, AGAIN, clarified by owner. Grill was available for use but not cleaned and grease trap was very full. Kitchen cooking tools/dishes had some missing pieces, lids with no handles, and incomplete utensil sets ? Not many staple options available for coffee station, ie: sugar, cream. Coffee maker lid was slightly bent, but it did work. Hooks for coats in laundry would be nice. No hooks to hang wet towels in bathroom. Not enough hand size towels. Mattresses not comfortable. Dusk to dawn outdoor security lights not working order, so it's very dark outside. Cleaning fee charged did not reflect in appearance, at initial check in: inside refrigerator surfaces not sanitized, nor all countertops, floors not swept, food under bar area, cobwebs above shower, dirty mirror surfaces. several spiders, and a scorpion found inside property. Did not smell recently cleaned. While not spotless, it was acceptable.
