Golfview has just been renovated November 2019 all photos of cottage are current photos taken 12:11/19 Golfview, is a small cottage style bungalow, situated in the little fishing hamlet of Felixstowe Ferry, area of outstanding natural beauty on the heritage Suffolk coast. The property over looks Felixstowe ferry golf course and is a few feet away from the beach. It is ideal for golf, fishing, sailing, walking, art, bird watching, etc. Here you will find a collection of cottages and old fisherman’s huts, a Martello tower, a pub which date's back to 1042 and which serve a variety of ales and excellent food, 2 fresh fish stalls selling locally caught fish of the day. A golf course, a sailing club, a café and down on the jetty there is a small passenger foot ferry which runs daily during the summer months across the river Deben to Bawdsey known for its RAF radar stations and Bawdsey manor. Golf View is close to Woodbridge, Colchester, Ipswich, Southwold, Aldeburgh, Walberswick, and appox 1.1/2 hours drive from London (70miles) WITHIN EASY DISTANCE: The main town of Felixstowe is approx 2 miles away where you can find several restaurants, Theatre, shops, Leisure Centre and enjoy a walk along the promenade. It is close to Woodbridge 15 miles, Aldeburgh 32 miles, Ipswich 10 miles, Colchester 30 miles (oldest recorded town) also Sutton Hoo (burial ground of the Saxon king) The cottage is well placed for touring Suffolk including the picturesque towns of Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Southwold, Dunwich, Walberswick, Orford and Harwich. Only half an hours drive from Snape, famous for its all year round concerts. Further inland are Framlingham, a quaint old town with a cobbled market square, tea shops, good eating houses and a castle. For the children, a day out and a picnic at Easton Farm Park, is a must. Set in a lovely original farm setting with antique machinery, farm animals, arts and crafts, childrens play area, a restaurant and a picnic area set alongside a river. Slightly further afield are the famous small towns of Long Melford, a haven for antique hunters, and famous for Kentwell and Long Melford Halls. The medieval old wood town of Lavenham is also worth a visit as is Constable Country and the Dedham Vale. The property itself is a small but cosy bungalow,with WiFi, tastefully furnished and well maintatined. Facilities; 2 double bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, bathroom with a shower, parking for 2 cars. Oil fired central heating. Lounge: has TV, CD Hi-Fi, DVD, sofa, table & chairs Newly fitted kitchen with microwave, cooker, fridge/freezer, and washing machine.
