Summary: The gorgeous villa nestled atop the hills of Castiglion Fiorentino was more spectacular than the pictures! The views were breath-taking , and the place was immaculate. To our delight, there were a few surprises at the villa - the pool had some lovely cabanas and new umbrellas installed, plus a hot jacuzzi which was lovely to enjoy in the evenings whilst taking in the view. We did not have a car, and transport did prove tricky, but our hosts were super helpful in collecting us from the local train station (however, I do recommend hiring a car). One evening, the matriarch and her friend cooked us a lovely local meal which included the most amazing Bistecca Fiorentina (the consistency was tender and soft, like butter), followed a spectacular Tiramisu - delightful! Definitely too much food, but we certainly did not mind. The complimentary vino della casa and house made olive oil were also a very lovely touch. Such a spectacular home, secluded and private location – even the separate staircases in the house offer some privacy from your guests (or kids…). We so enjoyed our time here and cannot wait to return to sunny, beautiful Tuscany.
