The Old Co-Op Barn converted in Dec 2016 oozes warmth, charm and eccentricities. The barn nestles in the lovely village of Brassington with 2 excellent pubs with exhilarating walks for you and your dog if you have one, right from the door step. The barn has all modern conveniences but also reclaimed wooden and slate floors, old beams and a hand made reclaimed upcycled kitchen made from pallets. Cuddle up on the quality sofa and the woodburner will make you feel at home and relaxed in no time. The Co-Op barn can be your romantic bolt hole or energetic sporting retreat. Facilities Wi fi and central heating is available throughout the barn Bedrooms – both have full ensuite facilities, towels and all bed linen provided. The upstairs room has a double bed and a luxurious double ended bath for your indulgence. All furniture is upcycled and renovated, we hope you enjoy it, we enjoyed making it especially the ladders !! The downstairs bedroom has 2 full size single beds and has a large shower room. I hope you like the picnic blanket curtains (my idea) and the unusual lampshades (John’s idea)!! We will provide a travel cot, stair gate and high chair when requested just let us know your little one’s needs. Lounge and Dining room area Curl up on the quality sofa and chairs in front of the woodburner. There is a TV, Hi Fi, many cds, videos and books for all age groups. The dining table and chairs seat 4 easily for your family meals. Please note the TV table was the old work bench in the barn before we started renovating it. Kitchen All modern facilities, dish washer, washing machine, microwave, cooker, fridge (but no freezer), all cutlery, crockery pots pans and all you need to cook with. We hope you enjoy the “potting shed” themed kitchen, made by John from reclaimed pallets and hand painted and waxed by Vanessa, it is truly unique. Even the old brass taps are upcyled and reclaimed. Enjoy the old Co-Op Barn for its fantastic interior décor with lots of old agricultural features that will sure to get you inspired to start renovating and up-cycling in your own homes! Parking is off road next to the barn and there is a local bus route in the village if wanted. The Old Gate Inn 5 minutes walk is 400 years old is stunning and does a good pint and meal. The Barn cottage garden has decking and seating positioned to enjoy the views across the valley and up into the hills and dales beyond. There is also a picnic table and chairs for alfresco dining surrounded by flower boarders, stone walls and fencing making the garden a safe place for dogs and children. We have also attached 2 x D rings for you to lock up your bikes at night down by the back door. So, whether it is sitting out in the early morning with a cup of coffee watching the sun rise across the valley or watching the sun go down after a lovely day out in the fells whatever the reason we hope you love it as much as we do Exploring the area The walk over to Carsington village is just stunning with views over Carsington water and a pub to enjoy on your way. The Carsington water has a visitor centre and 8 miles to walk or bike around. Footpaths across hill and dale are everywhere and biking trails such as the High Peak is 10 mins bike away. Further afield are Ashbourne, Bakewell, Wirksworth and Cromford all worth exploring with great restaurants and shops.
