The Stay Awhile Apalachicola House is in an old residential neighborhood on the edge of town, about 8 blocks from nearly everywhere. Available for a month or longer, this 2-bedroom, 2-bath house in historic The Hill neighborhood of Apalachicola was renovated in 2019 into an airy and comfortable home.
Do you have a boat? Stay Awhile is on the corner of Avenue M and 7th Street, both which end within two blocks at a boat launch. And, the u-shaped driveway at Stay Awhile has room to maneuver for both your car or truck and your boat.
Does your job allow you to work remotely? Why not work from Apalachicola? Stay Awhile has a private study off the master bedroom, with two desks, bookshelves, and fast, reliable wifi. Or you can bring your laptop outside, on either of the two screen porches.
The kitchen, designed by someone who loves to cook a lot, has butcher block countertops, custom-built cupboards, a rolling cart, and updated appliances. Throughout the house the furniture is a mix of old and new: fabulously comfortable Zinus memory foam beds and two comfortable couches, with vintage hardwood furniture finds, a modern smart TV, and plenty of lamps and throw pillows. The house has a full-size washer and dryer tucked in a separate closet by the bedrooms and bathrooms.
The two screen porches are both furnished. One looks out on the backyard patio, and the other faces the six Spanish moss-draped live oak trees across 7th Street. The afternoon sunlight, filtered by those trees, makes it a truly magical place to sit!
The landscaped yard includes a portable outdoor grill. There is a new shed, made by the same craftsman who made the dining room table, and in the shed there are two bicycles, old cruisers, that are your so use if you'd like. Apalachicola is a great town to enjoy by bicycle, with its wide streets and very low traffic density.
