2 Bedroom Cabin in White Oak Lodge, Gatlinburg
CABIN: (4.9/5 stars as of December 6, 2021 on other rental website! I had a bad October but have changed cleaners and addressed issues that guests gave me poor reviews on).
- Our cabin is easily accessible all year round (no steep roads, 4 wheel drive not needed), with a paved flat walking path and 1-2 steps to the rear entry access from your two designated parking spots, which is great for people who may have a mobility impairment or for those who don't like to go up steps with luggage or after a day of hiking.
- It has a modern, open concept floor plan where kitchen, living, and dining areas have good sight lines. The cabin has a beautiful vaulted ceiling that draws your eyes up to the loft. There is a full kitchen with granite countertops (a lot of new and older cabins will have laminate in the Gatlinburg area -we noticed when house hunting for a cabin, which I don’t get but wouldn’t want to rent a place without solid surface countertops) and stainless appliances. There is a 55 inch smart TV above the seasonal gas fireplace, and a loft with additional seating, a Foosball table, & Atari arcade console for guests to enjoy rainy days.
- There is a bedroom with a queen bed with soft sheets and freshly added bear themed bedding on the first floor ideal for people who desire the one floor living, with a generous bathroom/laundry room across the hall. This bathroom has a tiled shower stall with a shower head and body spray. Added new washer/dryer unit in November 2021.
- There is a bedroom with a king bed (also soft sheets and freshly updated moose themed bedding) and whirlpool tub on the second floor. It has an on-suite bathroom with dual vanities, buffalo check shower curtain, tiled shower with a shower head and body spray, and a shower bench.
- Guests sleeping in living areas will have access to a futon or to (2) rollaway twin folding beds.
- There are two outdoor spaces: relax on the front porch while sitting in rocking chairs, or enjoy the sights and sounds of nature on the screened in porch out back and avoid the bugs.
- The cabin has linens and blankets for each bed, as well as towels for each guest.
- There is free Wi-Fi and all TVs are smart TVs at our cabin. Living room and bedroom lamps have built in USB ports for charging convenience.
- Cabin character includes a variety of interior decor touches such as abstract animal art, alcohol patents as an ode to Tennessee whiskey, cabin decor such as snowshoes and a log roller, Sasquatch/Big Foot signs, and canvases along the stairs of pictures from our family trip to Gatlinburg in 2019. The rustic fireplace mantle is made out of local wood from Gatlinburg.
- There is a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and dishwasher pods. We do provide a coffeepot, Keurig, tea kettle, blender, and crockpot for convenience.
- For ultimate convenience you can even have groceries ordered and cabin stocked prior to your arrival.
- Amazon delivers directly to our cabin’s porch.
RESORT:
- In addition to the cabin's hot tub, the resort offers a saltwater pool that was renovated in 2019, with a beach entry access for all ages to easily enter the pool, and waterfalls to jump through or get lost under. In 2021, pool deck was enlarged for greater number of pool lounges. Pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day (extending into September if weather permits).
- There is also a fire pit, fitness room, natural gas grills, shared basketball & tennis court, paved walking trail, and a horseshoe pit. There is no extra resort fee to use these amenities.
- There is construction of other new cabins happening: work is done between 9-5, and from my experience does not affect our stay (last stay August 2021). These cabins will be completed Spring/Summer 2022.
Reviews:
October 2021 was our worst month in our 2 year ownership. Our cleaner got into a car accident, and our dryer broke and the new one needed a second outlet. We have hired a new cleaner, new washer/dryer tower, and are fixing any other issues that may affect future guests. We want you to love our cabin as much as we do, as this is our second home.
