Villa Rosa is a beautiful modern property built in the traditional neoclassical style architecture of Symi. Situated in the Pitini area of Symi, its fabulous position means it offers stunning uninterrupted views of Yialos harbour, the Aegean sea and the Island of Nimos. Rare for properties located close to the harbour, the property has the benefit of road access and the "lazy steps" are also just a few moments away so you can easily access the centre. Offering spacious and flexible accommodation, Villa Rosa spans 2 separate properties which sleeps 8 -10. Set within a beautiful private garden with a large outside kitchen overlooking Symi's famous Yialos harbour. Villa Rosa is a tranquil place to relax and gather with loved ones whilst in Symi. The villa is equipped to ensure guests experience home from home comfort during their holiday. The buildings that make up Villa Rosa comprise of a main larger house and a smaller cottage. Arranged over 2 floors the main house sleeps 6 and the smaller detached cottage can sleep up to 4. The two buildings are separated by a large outside shaded kitchen with views out to sea. The villa is surrounded by a generous size garden full of flowers, fresh herbs and trees, including a beautiful 200 year old olive tree. There are different places around the garden to relax and enjoy the scenery including large seating/ dining area. Main House The upper floor of the house is flooded with natural light from the many windows and balcony that face the harbour and sea making it a wonderful space to take in those beautiful Symi views. The comfortable living area combines an open kitchen with dining area and separate seating area for relaxing. There is a further mezzanine area (moussandra) above the main living room forming a double sleeping space (bedroom) which also has the benefit of its own w.c. On the lower floor of the main house there are two generous size bedrooms with high ceilings giving a wonderful feeling of space, both bedrooms have double doors that lead to the garden with harbour and sea views which you can literally enjoy whilst laid in bed. The master bedroom has the benefit of an ensuit bathroom whilst the second bedroom is located next to another separate bathroom. In the downstairs hallway there is a small library/study area (situated between the 2 bedrooms) with a selection of books for our guests to read whilst at the house. From the main house there are several ways to access the garden, which acts as the divider between the main house and cottage. Externally there are two separate staircases that flank either side of the main house (one of these staircases is completely open) and internally the garden can be accessed via both bedrooms. The garden is made up of different paved and planted areas, with lots of space to spread out on loungers. All of the garden faces the sea and offers 180 degree mostly uninterrupted views of the panorama, it is beautiful. The garden also has a large outside kitchen which acts as a central space between the two buildings that make up the villa, there is a large breakfast bar and the kitchen equipped for cooking with a full oven 4 cooking hobs and 2 refrigerators. Whether picking your fresh herbs for your meal from around the garden or lazing on a lounger by the lavender beds, the garden is full of different areas to retreat to including a large seating area with a huge marble top table which can seat around 10 for a unique dining experience looking out to sea. The smaller cottage sits to the left of the garden. It has its own terrace facing the sea and can sleep 2 on the ground floor in the double bed and 2 people above on the open moussandra level. The cottage also has a separate bathroom with walk-in shower. Both properties benefit from air conditioning throughout, wifi and a washing machine. On arrival there will be a complimentary welcome hamper for our guests to enjoy which will include household essentials to get you started as well as bottled water. Guests will be greeted at the villa by our English and Greek speaking property manager. A taxi transfer from the port can be arranged for an additional cost of 20 euros each way based for on 4 people. The island of Symi is a magical place to spend your vacation. Full of natural beauty, there are wonderful unspoilt beaches to visit where you can enjoy swimming in crystal clear blue waters and eat a traditional delicious lunch, just watch out for the goats that sometimes roam around! Most of the focus away from the beaches lies in the centre in Yialso, here you can sit in one of the many cafes or restaurants and watch the world go by Symi style! Villa Rosa 's location means you can easily access Yialos, it is located approximately 15 mins on foot from the clock tower in Yialos where the Dodekanisos Ferries arrive from Rhodes and other islands and it takes approximately 10-20 mins on foot ( pace and heat depending ) from the taxi boats in the main harbour to the house via the Lazy Steps which are made up of 145 steps and partly slopes areas. Chorio; the upper village in Symi is also just a few minutes on foot from the house via the road, this a great place to explore village life and visit the local museum. From the house you can walk for a few minutes to a slope where you reach the middle section of the Kali Strata which takes you up through Chorio. Villa Rosa is a tranquil place to relax unwind and gather with loved ones in comfort whilst in Symi. The villa offers privacy and calm away from the vibrant harbour but easy access into it either by foot or car. The position and the views really are what make Villa Rosa so special, from here a day can easily slip away...... as you watch the sail boats, yachts and ferries gently roll in and out of the bay under the changing light of day all set against the stunning backdrop of beautifully coloured Neo Classical architecture. There are many open spaces and staircases at Villa Rosa which whilst a common feature of the islands architecture, may prove unsuitable for families with younger children or anyone with mobility issues and ask that you carefully consider this before considering staying with us.
