Description:
This large 7500 sq.ft Ontario cottage rental is located on Sandy Lake approx. 5 min. from the Town of Buckhorn where you’ll find a FoodLand grocery store, LCBO/Beer Store, and restaurants. It’s also close to Lakefield and Bobcaygeon, quaint little towns with great shopping, and only 35 minutes to Peterborough and only 1.5 hours from Toronto!
The interior is bright and comfortable with an open-concept living room, dining room, kitchen, and sunroom. The coffered ceilings and large picture windows open this cottage to its surroundings and beautiful views! There is a walkout from the dining area and screened room onto the deck overlooking the lake. The large principal bedroom, located upstairs, offers beautiful lake views & features a 4 pc. ensuite with air tub and stand-alone glass shower. All the bedrooms are located upstairs.
The finished walkout lower level also features two queen beds, a TV living area, a sauna, and a walkout to the hot tub overlooking Sandy Lake.
The cottage itself is built close to the lake and there is a stunning stone patio with a firepit right at the water’s edge. The water is a shallow entry (approx. 2 feet at the shoreline) with a sandy bottom that slopes to slightly deeper water much further out. Approx. 4.5 feet deep at the end of the dock.
This is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy cottage country!

Sandy Lake is spring-fed, quite shallow, and has a white sandy bottom (hence the name Sandy Lake).
What makes Sandy Lake so unique is its clarity and colour. On a sunny day, the water is a turquoise colour – you’d think you were in the Caribbean!
Also, since the lake is shallow, it’s great for kids and warms up very early in the season.
