Villa Serena is a tranquil home away from home with spectacular lake views and all the extras that you'd expect from a comfortable villa without stairs or problems for those with mobility issues. A stay at Villa Serena lets you have a lively fun-filled holiday if you want it, but feels as if it is in its own little piece of paradise. For days at home the whole family will love the huge pool and BBQ terrace area and the option to kick a ball around the olive groves or go for a stroll - and for lazy nights in, you have all the conveniences of home with a cosy conservatory from which you can watch the stars or a luxurious outdoor lounge and bar,a fully fitted kitchen, gas BBQ, a huge dining table and a lovely lounge fitted with a log burner (for those Spring or Autumn evenings) and a whole host of British TV to watch whilst enjoying the recliner sofas! (Oh and yes there's WiFI for those who need to stay connected!) Each of the three double bedrooms has air conditioning and its own bathroom (Each has a shower and one is specially adapted for those with mobility issues). There is also a laundry area.A further single bed is available. Ramps are provided for use on the two entry/exit doors which have a small step and the adapted bathroom has a widened doorway for wheelchair access. The villa contains a comprehensive guide to the attractions of the local area and help is on hand from the lovely English speaking property managers -only minutes away if you need any further advice. All bed linen and towels, including those for the beach are provided. A weekly linen change is included and more frequent cleaning can be provided at an extra cost. From the moment you arrive, you will be wowed by the huge open view, and the peace and quiet which surrounds you.Yet you are only a 5 minute drive from 2 fabulous restaurants. (We love the tapas at El Pantano- and often laze away a lunchtime eating the jamon/queso platter on the terrace of 'Camping'! A few extra minutes from the wonderful El Charco-where the steak is legendary and Summer music nights are magical with a view right down over the lake. You have your choice of pizza,Indian,Chinese and Spanish restaurants on the other side of the lake,just a short drive or taxi run away. There's a bakery,a bar which brews its own ipa and a small supermarket within minutes up in Los Romanes- or Arkwrights (which is truly open all hours)and a fabulous bakery just around the lake for all things English! There's also a superb butchers with a huge selection including bbq treats. There's plenty to do on your doorstep- hiking opportunities are endless and the bird-watching is good too. Kayaks and bikes are for hire around the lake, organised horse riding, walking tours and wine tasting are on offer locally. Arrange to be picked up and taken on a 4X4 trek into the nearby National Parks- or if you're brave, go off roading! Further afield, you are only 20 minutes from the coast, water-park, cinemas and shopping.Venture slightly further and you have the beauty of white villages such as Frigilliana and the gorgeous Balcon at Nerja. A day trip to Malaga is always worthwhile-there is so much to see and do. We also love Granada, which is a longer drive but The Alhambra Palace is a really spectacular feast for the eyes. Try Rhonda for another amazing spectacle! The nearby Hotel Vinuela has a beautiful spa which you can rent out for an hour- and is also the perfect spot for a special celebration dinner.
