NEW to the Grand Cayman vacation rental market, SeaScape (#9) is the largest of the nine two-story townhomes at Northern Lights, originally planned as two separate units but redesigned early in the build process as one large three bedroom 3200 square foot townhome. Its situation on the lushly landscaped tropical grounds of Northern Lights allows for a comfortable sense of privacy without feeling isolated.
When you first step into SeaScape at Northern Lights, your eye is drawn out the window walls and through the lanai to the spectacular panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea just beyond the palms ruffling in the breeze. You’ll note that the deep lounge seating on the screened two story lanai is a lovely spot to linger over coffee or tea in the morning, to read, or to enjoy evening cocktails while watching the play of the sunset on the water and talking over the day and plans for tomorrow.
Back inside, you will find an open, airy and casually comfortable tropical vacation home with ten foot ceilings, plenty of seating and lots of natural light, freshly decorated in colors and materials that evoke Caribbean flavors. The kitchen is well-appointed with plenty of cookware and bakeware as well as new appliances, including an induction cooktop and retractable ventilation hood, as well as a coffee maker, toaster and blender. There is a separate laundry area with new full size washer and dryer, a utility sink, and shelves for coolers and beach towels, and plenty of extra room for your gear. Upstairs you will find the three bedrooms, each with en suite bath. The generously sized master bedroom, which with the master bath occupies one half of the upstairs, enjoys stunning views of the seascape through expansive sliders that open onto the balcony. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and provides wonderful sea views through a wide slider than also opens onto the balcony, while the third bedroom features two twin trundle beds providing sleeping space for four and windows on two walls with views of tropical greenery. Amenities include free secure wifi, free local calls, and cable tv and Roku streaming devices in the living room and master bedroom. You will find SeaScape spic and span, and additional housekeeping visits and/or grocery delivery services are available upon request. Our on-island property manager, Ian, is a phone call or text away should a need arise.
Having made yourself at home in SeaScape, you might want to explore the grounds of Northern Lights. You will find mature coconut palms, gnarled old sea grape trees, fragrant jasmine and bougainvillea in the gardens around the buildings and surrounding the beachfront freshwater pool. Eight steps take you down to the beach, where tidal pools formed by ironshore dotting the sand are often home to the tiniest of fish. The newly rebuilt dock with its cabana and bench– Northern Lights property, for the private use of owners and their guests - also features a swim platform with ladder, providing easy access for a snorkel. A short kick past the dock, you will discover reefs abounding with sea life, including corals, lobsters, urchins, and a marvelous array of colorful reef fish. Rays, turtles, and nurse sharks have been spotted passing through, too; we were even honored to have a Loggerhead Turtle choose a spot between our two sets of beach steps for her nest just this past August 2018! You might also notice dive boats anchored just past the reef, directly in front of Northern Lights or just a bit west; this is Babylon Reef, a world-renowned dive site. Here in the quietude of the natural North Side, many of Grand Cayman’s wildlife are residents or frequent visitors at Northern Lights. You might spot tiny lizards, crabs, frogs, or any of the dozens of bird species that call North Side home – including herons, Frigate Birds, Bananaquits, and the charming and chatty endemic Grand Cayman Parrot.
