This beach retreat provides a superb location, steps from boat ramp and private slip, views of the sound, steps from the beach, thoughtfully appointed rooms, updated technology, a well-stocked kitchen, cleanliness, quiet street, and wonderful neighbors. Slip Away is the ideal location for all your beach adventures!
Location:
This recently updated home is located within a small/quiet neighborhood off South Shore Drive/HWY 50 in Surf City, about 3 miles south of the high-rise bridge and just across the street from the ocean. This a quiet and preferred location on Topsail Island, provides easy access to groceries, restaurants, activities, and shopping found in the central business district, as well as easy access on and off the island via the high-rise bridge. The location allows vacationers to enjoy walking, running, and biking just steps away from the beach. When staying at Slip Way, you will not have far to go to enjoy a day on the beach; the house is located just 350 feet from the private beach access. If you enjoy fishing or boating, bring your boat (26' limit) or jet ski and launch it using our private neighborhood boat ramp; then dock it for the duration of your stay at our Lucky #7 slip in the nearby canal. Lunch at the picnic table then enjoy sunbathing on the upper deck of the house or read a favorite book sitting in the porch swing in the shade of the lower deck.
House and Amenities:
About the House: The 2400 sq. ft. reverse floor plan includes three bedrooms and two baths on the first floor as well as a laundry. The second floor consists of the living / dining / kitchen area and a fourth bedroom and bath. There are hardwood floors in the dining/kitchen/den areas, Berber carpet in the bedrooms, and tile in the bathrooms. Ceiling fans in all 4 bedrooms and an abundance of windows throughout to provide beautiful views.

Activities:
There are many activities for the entire family nearby: surf & pier fishing; charter boat fishing, both near-shore and deep sea; crabbing & clamming; miniature golf, golf courses on the mainland; lots of shopping including several very nice art galleries; Internet cafes; roller skating; surfing, jet skiing, & kayak rentals; bicycle rentals (the towns of Surf City and Topsail Beach have paved bicycle lanes); and a wide variety of restaurants from very casual to elegant. Local events that may interest you include: the Kiwanis Sun Fest (May), July 4 Fireworks, the King Mackerel Tournament (Aug.), the Snead's Ferry Shrimp Festival (Aug.), Autumn with Topsail (Oct.), & the Holiday Boat Flotilla (Nov.). During the summer visit the Sea Turtle Hospital, one of only a few such facilities in the US that cares for & rehabilitates injured sea turtles. Twice yearly you may observe the staff as they return rehabilitated turtles to the sea.
Area:
Topsail Island is a family-oriented beach. Visitors enjoy Topsail, returning year after year, because of the many miles of uncrowded sandy beaches. Perfect for swimming, walking, sunbathing, fishing, or simply relaxing. If you have not already experienced it, a sunset stroll along the pedestrian walkway on our beautiful new bridge is spectacular. The peak of the bridge provides panoramic views in all directions. Be sure to bring your camera! But you must be here to experience it. You will fall in love with the island.
