****Please note, the lake is extremely low, and there is no water in front of the house. But you won't be disappointed by the beautiful Hill Country views that surround you. Please read reviews for verification - guests love the views!
The main house is a lovely 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home perched cliffside overlooking Medina Lake with the Texas Hill Country as an amazing backdrop. (remote enough you'll be required to drive on an unpaved gravel road for the last mile!) There is a Ring doorbell/camera on the front door of the property as you enter the house by the driveway. We have also installed a Ring security camera above the window in the cottage with a broad view of the yard area. We do not actively monitor cameras during guest stays. They are more for checking in on weather, etc since we are located an hour away from the property. We will check cameras if we ever have cause for concern, but that has rarely been the case.
Inside you'll find 2 spacious living areas (living room with super comfy furniture for TV watching, with lots of viewing options, and a huge sunroom with furniture perfectly arranged for great conversations.). The well-stocked country kitchen boasts a small dining area, a kitchen island with 2 stools, and a game "peninsula" with 3 additional stools. Many games and books are included for your pleasure.
PLEASE NOTE - safety precaution - there are 3 steps supported by rails going up to the front porch/entry, as well as 2 steps transitioning down from the living room (dark tile floor) to the sun room (light wood floor).
The three bedrooms are spaced out for privacy. The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed with a private bathroom attached. There is an additional bathroom (with a bathtub) conveniently located near the kitchen and the front bedroom. We've added a daybed/trundle to provide room for 2 more guests - these beds are in the sunroom - a common area.
On the property, you'll also find a charming cottage for 2 (one of the things I fell in love with when I saw this property). It has a fully functioning, stocked kitchen, full bathroom (shower, sink, toilet), and a full sized bed, with a cute loveseat and TV with working wifi. There is a small bar with stools for 2 to enjoy your meals!
But the real show stopper is the porch overlooking Medina Lake. The lake is currently low (dry in front of the house), but just as beautiful. And with the added meadow area where the lake has receded from, you'll enjoy watching herds of cattle, 5 resident horses, and a variety of wildlife. Grab a pair of binoculars (there are eight on the property - enough for everyone!), relax and have a look.
There is plenty of seating along the porch, with a covered dining table for 4, a porch swing, and a fire table with comfortable swivel seating for six on the patio, and now a newly serviced hot tub overlooking the lake. You will not believe the views, the breeze and the relaxation that immediately overcomes you! Additional amenities include a cornhole game, and a charcoal grill. One area of the property is bordered by large boulders as a separation from the cliff. Small children will need to be supervised.
After much consideration, we've decided to allow vetted pets on a stay-by-stay basis. There will be an additional fee of $50 per pet. No more than 2 pets may accompany you. Pets must be crated when not supervised. They must be crated if left alone at the property. No pets on furniture, please.
A washer and dryer will be made available on a case by case basis on extended stays. There will be a $50 fee for use.
