Slatey Barn is a stunning barn conversion set in private farmland in the South Downs National Park just minutes from Goodwood and the cathedral city of Chichester. The living are is truly impressive with stunning double height beamed ceilings and triple aspect windows overlooking the surrounding countryside. A large dining table, perfect for celebratory meals, is at its centre and the comfortable lounge area has uninterrupted views of the South Downs. There is underfloor heating throughout the barn which provides a wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped and has a separate larder and a useful additional dining area around the central island. With two ovens, large hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer you have all the equipment you may need during your stay. There is an additional cloakroom also on the ground floor. There are four spacious bedrooms offering flexible accommodation for all guests. Two bedrooms are located on the mezzanine floor overlooking the living area, one king size and one double bedded. Both bedrooms have a large ensuite bathroom with walk in shower, WC and basin. On the ground floor, the principal bedroom has a king sized bed at its centre with a comfortable armchair and dressing table also available. The ensuite bathroom has two basins, a freestanding bath and a large wet room rain shower. The second ground floor bedroom has two singles bed and an ensuite bathroom with a bath and separate shower cubicle. There is also a useful cloakroom on the ground floor. Outside Slatey Barn there are two terrace areas and a BBQ is available in the summer months so that you can enjoy the full, long days of sunshine. There is a covered car area for up to three cars and a large gravelled driveway if more space is required. Lavant and beyond Slatey Barn is a short distance from the lovely village of Lavant with a lovely Norman church, two welcoming country inns and some lovely walks where you can enjoy fantastic views of the coastal plain from Littlehampton across to Southampton and even further to the Isle of Wight. The Monarchs Way, a long distance footpath, and the Centurion Way, which gives year-round access to West Dean for both walkers and cyclists, are both nearby. Slatey Barn is perfectly positioned to enjoy many attractions in the area including the wonderful events held at the Goodwood Estate including Glorious Goodwood which is at the stunning racecourse on top of the Downs. Of course, Goodwood House is also the venue to the now famous Festival of Speed and the motor circuit hosts the Revival Meeting every September. The cathedral city of Chichester, only three and a half miles away, is one of the great well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK. The city’s broad streets are packed with Listed buildings headed by the towering presence of the Cathedral. The city centre is neatly enclosed within the ancient city walls, which helps to make Chichester compact and pleasant to explore on foot.
