3-bedroom lake house/cottage in beautiful Grand Haven one mile south of lighthouse and Grand Haven State Park!
2023 Summer rentals June thru August are Saturday- Saturday at base rental rate of aprox $2625/week except for Coast Guard Week (starts last Saturday in July) $2800. There is a cleaning fee of $200.00 and a per pet fee of $200.00 each if applicable. Rates can change. Taxes and Booking Fees are not included.
Off Season Rentals (September - May)- rates can vary. There is a 4-night minimum for off season rentals.
Private association with over 1200 feet of private association beach on Lake Michigan with tennis court and small playground area. We are on top of a dune with 78 steps up from parking lot to a quiet serene hideaway with seasonal views of Lake Michigan.
Short walk to beach from the parking area at the bottom of the stairs thru association roads. While we have lost a large amount of our beach with the high water, we are very fortunate the homes in our Association are quite a ways back from the water's edge. None of the homes in our Association are in danger and there is plenty of beach to spread out and play. See latest pictures of Association Beach.
Sleeps 6 comfortably with two queen beds and two twin beds. Upstairs bedrooms are loft style with open ceilings and no bedroom doors.
Fully furnished with sheets and towels. Please note there is NO air conditioning. We have plenty of fans that keep it comfortable.
Suitable for adventure seekers, pet owners, girls' getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, or families with children who can walk stairs. Couples' getaway best for two couples maximum.
Shore Acres Association is a group of 23 homes nestled in the sand dunes with an abundance of trees and wildlife. Together we share approximately 1200 feet of Lake Michigan beach. There are 6 cottages beach front. Our home is on top of a sand dune behind one of the lake front cottages. When the foliage is in full bloom you can still catch glimpses of the lake depending on where you are on the deck that surrounds the entire cottage.
Late fall, winter and early spring are the best times to rent if you want to see the lake. During the summer when the foliage is in full bloom it feels like you are in the middle of an ancient forest. It is quiet and peaceful and very private. Today June 18 - I met a young deer at the top of the stairs who didn't run but stood and stared at me. I think it may be the one my neighbor watched as the mother gave birth as he was walking down the road.

Winter guests need to be aware they will need to shovel the stairs and deck if it snows during their stay - shovels are provided! While our one-lane private roads are plowed and salted - there can be times the roads can be hazardous to drive, and you may have to walk in - so please come prepared with your winter gear and energy!
June 2020, please note for everyone's safety we have enhanced our cleaning procedures to focus on disinfecting hard touch surfaces, sanitizing soft surfaces, and deep cleaning high-touch areas such as light switches, remote controls, knobs and door handles. Because of the extra cleaning needed to prepare, check-ins will generally not be allowed before 4PM.
