Our family built this wonderful property as a place to gather with family and friends and we would like to share it with you. This spacious house is perfect for family and friends gatherings or special events like a girls weekend, birthday getaway, or a family reunion. Take a walk though our 12 acres, watch the deer graze as you enjoy your morning coffee, have a family BBQ, sit and relax on the long porch as you gaze at the river, play with your kids in the spacious yard, and cool off in the Blanco River. The house is actually 3 different structures connected by a long porch. Main House - This building contains a kitchen, dinning area, and living room. This is where people gather to eat, play games, and converse. Guest House - This building has two bedrooms, a living room, and a full bath. One bedroom has a queen-size bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. The couch in the living room folds out into an additional bed. Hideaway House - The building contains two bedrooms and two full baths. One bedroom has a king bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. ==== LOCATION ==== Our home is located along the Blanco River in Wimberley, Texas. Wimberley is an easy 45 minute commute from Austin, but the peacefulness lets you feel far away. It is a prefect place to rejuvenate your soul and appreciate the nature that surrounds you. Our young kids played in the yard and river all day and our infant slept perfectly in one the bedrooms. Their grandparents came for a few days and enjoyed being in the mix and retreating to their own “home” whenever they wanted. We hope to come back again - it was a wonderful place to focus on being a family. We had a great time at Serenity Retreat! All the logistics were super easy and Sean even went out ahead of time to chill some water bottles and turn the AC down - a huge plus in August! The property was just as it is presented and worked perfectly for two families of 4. Plenty of space to spread out and do your own thing or gather as a group. The kitchen was perfectly sized for gathering and group meal preparation. It worked out well for us to have my in-laws in the Hideaway and our family (2 adults & 3 kids) in the Guest House. Sean and Rae Ann have stocked the house with everything we could need - no lack for linens, towels, or kitchen tools. Town isn't too far away, but sitting on the porch looking at the river you feel as though you're hundreds of miles from anywhere. It is very peaceful there - my sons really enjoyed feeding the deer, exploring the river, chasing the frogs, playing frisbee on the lawn, and just relaxing on the futon in the screened-in porch. - Stefani, July 2014 Sean was nice to meet me ahead of time to check out his place. This house was exactly what we needed for our reunion with cousins. Everything worked well. We enjoyed a dip in the river and there was plenty of room to spread out to visit with each other. The host Sean made the rental process easy and the property provided all the essentials for a relaxing weekend on the river. The home itself is perfect for small groups…the layout really lends itself to an engaging open environment with friends. Hence, the kitchen was large and had bar stool style seating around the center island and was open to the dinning/living room area. Also the outdoor deck runs the entire length of the home which was very cool. Windows everywhere so lots of natural light and an open refreshing feel. Also the guest quarters are in a separate part off the main house so while some friends stayed up talking others could turn in for the night without notice or 'i'm trying to sleep' issues. Location is great. Very private feel and right on the river. 10-15 min drive into Wimberley. Can't beat it.
