The space
This gorgeous 2-story chalet will check all the boxes for your Big Bear escape! Four beautifully appointed bedrooms including a guest suite with full bath invite you to sink into the sumptuous beds. Three of the bedrooms and a full laundry and guest bath are all on the entry level. The large garage doubles as a game room, with air hockey, dart board, foosball, and game console. With parking for 3 cars in the level driveway, there's still room for one car in the garage if you need it.
Upstairs, the huge, open great room welcomes one and all to gather 'round for movie night, game night, a gourmet holiday meal, casual bbq on the deck, or quiet time in front of the stone fireplace. Relax on the comfy down sofa, curl up in an oversized chair with a good book or a cup of coffee as you take in the huge views from the giant south-facing windows!
The kitchen is every cook's dream and you'll find everything you need to make meals special and entertaining easy. The master suite is your delight with a gas fireplace and spa-like bathroom with jetted tub and separate, extra large shower enclosure.
Outdoor amenities include a huge hot tub *YOU SHOULD TURN THE TEMPERATURE UP ON THE HOT TUB FIRST THING UPON ARRIVAL. IT CAN TAKE SEVERAL HRS TO WARM UP - up to 12 hrs or longer at times of the year - AND LEAVE COVER ON. DO NOT SIT ON HOT TUB COVER, they break easily - IF YOU DO, DEPOSIT WILL BE FORFEITED!*, propane BBQ (please bring your own propane tank if you would like to use), plenty of seating, patio table and chairs, a wooden swing, and a stairway that will take you directly up to Snow Summit. So much to do and love in Big Bear - Come stay and play at Summit Chalet!

There is a driveway that can fit 3 vehicles depending on their size. There is absolutely no street parking on the road per city code.

**PLEASE READ PRIOR TO BOOKING**
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT:
Check-in time is 5pm, and check-out time is 10am. Please note that these times are strictly enforced, and that arriving before 5pm or checking out after 10am without prior approval is against our policies. You may contact us the morning of your arrival to see if an early check-in is possible. Please note that we open and inspect all our properties the day of your arrival to ensure the home is ready for arrival; however, early check-ins can dramatically affect our quality assurance program. Our openers/inspectors cannot perform their normal duties if you have already entered the property. Please call the day of your departure to see if a late check-out is possible (up to 12pm), we cannot approve any late check-outs prior to your check-out day. We will do our best to accommodate your request. Should you be granted a late checkout, please be sure to adhere to the agreed time. This is so our housekeeping service can prepare the home for the next guest, which may be just a few hours after you depart.
No early check-ins/late check-outs are available during the winter peak season or holidays.
AMENITIES, REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE:
Plan to bring everything you may need outside of furnishings, dishes, utensils, bath towels, linens, blankets, pillows, etc. We also provide limited amounts of cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, a few trash bags, etc. Our home is equipped with basic kitchen utensils and appliances. Basic pots, pans, dishes, silverware are provided, and limited condiments are available. Due to the wildlife and nature setting, it is recommended that no food is left out, both inside and outside. This will reduce unwelcomed pests or wildlife.
We cannot guarantee against mechanical failure of heating, air conditioning, appliances, TVs/VCRs/DVD Players, stereo equipment, or pools/spas. Please report any inoperative equipment to us promptly. We will make every reasonable effort to have repairs done quickly and efficiently. If you demonstrate that the problem persists after being given phone instructions, a maintenance service professional will be dispatched. NO REFUNDS OR RENT REDUCTIONS WILL BE MADE DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS, INTERRUPTIONS OF UTILITIES, MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS OR CONSTRUCTION IN THE AREA. WHILE WE WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO REPAIR ANY MAINTENANCE ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER, IT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE FIXED DURING A GUEST STAY, AS THE COMPANY MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH HOME WARRANTIES. Modern Vacay will always look for alternative solutions to ensure and prioritize guest comfort.
PATIO/DECKS:
While we do our best to clean and rearrange the furniture located on the outside of the cabin/home, it is not part of our standard housekeeping services. We cannot be responsible for pine needles, leaves, twigs, or dirt/dust outside of the home. If you would like to use the furniture, you may need to wipe down prior to use.
DAY OF DEPARTURE:
Please wash all dirty dishes and place them in the sink to dry or rack (if provided). If the home is equipped with a dishwasher, please make sure you at least start the dishwashing cycle. Dirty dishes left behind will result in a $50 charge.
Please leave all used beds unmade so our cleaners know which ones need to be stripped. If the home is equipped with a laundry room, please leave all used towels and sheets in a pile next to the washer and dryer. If the home does not have a laundry room, please place towels/linens in a pile in the bathroom.
Remove the ashes from the fireplace and place in the metal can provided with the grill.
Please do not litter, including cigarette butts or pet waste in the yard. Remember, all cabins are non-smoking, or loss of security deposit will occur. If there is litter in the yard, there will be additional cleaning costs starting at $25.
Turn thermostat down to 55 F degrees and set to auto.
Check the home for forgotten personal items. If any items are left behind after checking out, Modern Vacay will have up to 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) to return item(s). Any fees associated with this will be at the expense of the guest.
Turn off all lights.
Upon final home departure, all windows and doors must be closed and locked.
