3 Bedroom House in Sorrento
This is a sun-filled one level 'beach-house' in the true sense of the word, suited best to families. Groups under 25 years and schoolies are not invited. Small pets may be allowed but only after discussion. (See below) It is a 40 year old, dune coloured, rendered brick house. A covered verandah and wooden decking runs the length of the southwest facing main entrance & big windows bring in the north & west sun. An indigenous garden of moonahs & local natives secludes the front of the property & New Zealand tee tree abounds on the sides and in the back garden. Guests say they 'unwind' as soon as they arrive, such is the feel of Sea Winds.
The dining table seats 8 & the kitchen table seats 4 with 2 bench seats. The modern kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and dining, and with a coffee pod machine. Much summer dining is done outdoors with plenty of tables and seating provided. Sleeps 7: the main bedroom and the second are queen sized beds. The third has a double bed bunk & single on top. For interstate and o/s guests, linen is available on request at a fee. All bedrooms have white, wooden Venetian blinds for beautiful filtered light. There are plenty of doonahs, blankets and pillows and baby needs are covered.
There is one good sized bathroom with toilet plus a second toilet off the new laundry.
The house has solar hot water, LG reverse cycle air conditioning; it has a modern electric stove, electric blanket in the second bedroom and added heating in all bedrooms. The house is well stocked with family and kids games, DVDs and toys. We request no smoking in the house please and ashtrays used outside.
There is an outdoor dining setting and extra chairs and 2 deck chairs. A very pleasant and private decked area adjacent to the main entrance and under the canopy of trees is ideal for outdoor meals. There is an up to date gas BBQ [which must be cleaned by renters].
A refundable bond of $500 applies in the event of serious damage or loss, payable with the fee and redeemable by internet transfer within 2 weeks of vacating. If the BBQ is not cleaned before departure a $250 withdrawal will be made from your bond (this being the charge of cleaning companies to clean these).
LITTLE PETS MAY BE ALLOWED IF IDENTIFIED AND DISCUSSED:
After discussion with you, only small dogs 'may' be allowed but the loose soil and garden is not suited to even quite active small dogs. A dog sleeping mat can be placed in the laundry. Guests own pet blankets must be used, and strictly used on the couch. Pets must strictly stay out of bedrooms. The property has a fully fenced-in large back garden with plenty of shade but we do not have a kennel at present.
All pet droppings in garden must be bagged and binned, of course, before departure.
Sorrento has a year-round pet beach at Cameron's Bight, a short drive along the Bay beach road at Blairgarie. Outside peak season, dogs on leashes are allowed at certain hours on the front and back beach. Check with the Peninsula Shire Council website or phone for updates before booking.

Besides the beaches, Sorrento Village has great (pokie-free) hotels, restaurants, quality shopping, a large 'fairly' priced IGA supermarket, galleries, churches, a cinema, a sailing club, tennis, yoga, gym, beautician, hairdressers and more. The ferry to beautiful Queenscliff and beyond is also within walking distance. The famous Portsea Pub and skin-diving is a short drive away, or an energizing walk along the back beach from the house (bus back if you like). Within a short drive are national parks, wineries, natural affordable hot spring spas, heritage homes, market garden farms for extra fresh veges, many quality golf courses and more restaurants than you could hope for.
