Positive: The apartment was easy to get into after hours, and is nicely located in a quiet area of downtown Tirano, right near the Church of St Martin, cafes, and restaurants. The staff (Stefanie) was available for any questions, and was super helpful. Our room was almost a suite: lots of room for our things without crowding the bed. The shower was amazing. Exterior shades kept the room very dark at night. The apartment is only a pleasant 10 minute walk to the train station, where you can catch the Bernina Express. Finally: if you are coming for the Bernina Express, consider staying in Tirano for an extra day or two. It is a lovely town, and the San Martino would be a great home base for your visit.
Negative: in the middle of the night we couldn’t figure out how to use the thermostat (not being able to read Italian)
Summary: Great location, staff, and price. I recommend highly.
