Unwind and relax with a holiday on the Murray River with a very large lawn area, boat ramp and jetty on the property!
This is a renovated, 3 bedroom family holiday home set back approx. 150m from the river. This means greater peace and safety while also having great views. The house is light and spacious with winding windows that capture the evening breezes. It has a fully renovated kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, bread making machine, induction cooktop and electric oven. It also has a second bathroom - a modern "out house" with a separate toilet, shower room, laundry with a washing machine and ironing facilities. The bathroom inside the house has a shower, toilet and a bath.
The house contains a huge lounge area with leather recliners, 65 inch TV with SONOS soundbar and detachable speakers, a selection of DVDs, CDs and games. We also have NBN speed, Bluetooth connection to speaker, Fetch Box and access to Netflix. The combustion heater is stoked and ready to light for that warm cosy feeling (wood supplied), ducted evaporative air-conditioning throughout for hot summer nights and easy to care for polished concrete floors.
It has a hard wired smoke alarm, fire blanket, digital methamphetamine detector and first aid kit.
Outside the house, there is a lawn area, a veranda with 6 burner, hooded BBQ, table, chairs and swing seat.
As the house is set back just over 150m from the river it means it is away from the noise of boats, cockatoos, galahs etc. also making it a safer play area for smaller children. Walk down a short path to the park-like river front area or head in the other direction up the hill, past the established orchard and across the winter creek to take in the 360 degree views of the river, cliffs, gum trees and quite a few kangaroos, native birds and recently, the occasional echidna.
This is set on a 20 acre property with beautiful park like lawns near the river front and a boat ramp onsite. Two houseboats are moored on the bank still leaving plenty of room for your boat to the right of the ramp. The very large area down by the river is a great place to set up a picnic and there is even a campfire pit and camp chairs with plenty of room for everyone. (must observe fire restrictions) The higher lawn area is almost the size of a soccer field and is ideal for games of cricket or footy too. Just keep an eye on the one and only tree in the middle though but it does make a very good defender or cricket stumps and is a great place to rest in the shade.
If you prefer, go fishing from the dock or take off in your boat for some skiing, walking or just relax with a drink watching the magical sunsets at the river's edge watching the cliffs change to a magical gold! Bring a book or magazines or read ours. If you need to catch up with Social Media or work we have a NBN Internet connection which has just been fitted. All you need to bring is your towels and sheets, food, drink and clothes.
We are only 140km from Adelaide - travel on the Port River Express way and National Highway A20 - just over an hour and a half and you're here! The property is situated approximately 6 km north of Blanchetown in the McBean Pound area.
There is an undercover parking area for 3 cars with room for more.
The house sleeps 6 adults (3 queen beds) - plus 2 bunks and a single bed with room for a cot (can be supplied on request)
Pets (max. 2) may be negotiated with the owner - strict conditions apply - a form MUST be filled out a week before your stay at the latest. Please inform us if you wish to apply to have your pet stay.
There are many places to visit nearby within a comfortable 30 to 40 minute drive. Go to the pubs at Morgan, Waikerie or Swan Reach - or just into Blanchetown - less than 5 minutes away. Salters Winery is about 10min away or travel just a bit further 35min to Caudo Winery for Sangria, wood oven pizza or lunch platters.
This is a lovely home away from home, a great place to unwind and relax. All the family will enjoy this home. Please note that rental is for the house and immediate surrounding area and shared access to the rest of the property including the river bank area.
