Rivermoon Retreat is located in a quiet town of Warren, NH. Well positioned to everything that White Mountains has to offer - from skiing to hiking to lots of other family and outdoor adventures.
Hiking in the White Mountains and surrounding areas ranges from kid and dog-friendly hikes to our more challenging "4000-footers" and the pinnacle for all advanced hikers, Mount Washington (6,288 feet at the summit). The popular Appalachian Trail crosses right through the center of Warren and some of the most beautiful waterfalls and natural stone formations are located along the Kancamagus (Rt 112) and most are short, easy walks.
For skiing, there are numerous options right nearby:
* Loon Mountain Resort: 21 miles from house. 3 peaks, 61 trails, terrain parks, 2100 foot vertical drop.
* Dartmouth Skiway: located 23 miles from the house, dartmouth skiway is the base of the dartmouth college ski teams and has 2 mountains with runs for all abilities.
* Cannon Mountain: 29 miles from the house. 81 trails and glades. Fantastic views. Aerial tramway located here.
* Whaleback Mountain: 37 miles from the house. 30 trails. Day and night skiing.
There is so much to do in the White Mountains and tons to see. We can't list everything here, but some of the more popular destinations for things to see and do include: Clark's Trading Post, Mount Washing Auto Road and Cog Railway, Quincy Bog Nature Area, The Flume Gorge, The Basin, Lost River Gorge & Caves, Polar Caves in Rumney, Lake Squam, Lake Winnipesaukee, Hobo Railroad, Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway and the Conway Scenic Railroad.
As this property is located in a fairly rural part of New Hampshire, having a car is pretty necessary to get around.
We are walking distance to a couple of restaurants and a convenience store, but beyond that, you're going to be looking to drive places!
