The Space:
Riverbank Swank offers a rare opportunity as a dream vacation rental: on the river, luxurious, and perfect for 2 couples or a family of 6. NOW WITH HOT TUB! As you approach the property, you're welcomed by the cabin's charming genuine log exterior, large lot with huge fenced side yard and a soft slope to the river beyond. Walk through the red front door and can already tell you're in for something special.
Step inside and you're immediately greeted by grand spaces with soaring wood beamed ceilings, windows with views of the mountain sides and treetops, original hardwood floors, swanky furnishings and décor, and the warmth and charm of a real mountain cabin! The main living space has comfortable overstuffed seating, with plush rugs that surround the gas fireplace and big screen TV. Perfect for a fun weekend or holiday of relaxing and entertaining! The space flows to the huge gourmet kitchen with high end appliances, plenty of counter space, and stocked with just about everything you'll need to prepare meals, just bring the groceries! Special touches and upgrades too like the double basin copper farm sink and hardwood serving bar with seating.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining space with plenty of seating and surrounded by a bank of windows that look out to the river and forest. A door leads out to the side deck with propane gas grill. A cozy nook awaits for game night as y'all kick back in the red leather chairs and challenge each other to a mean game of checkers! There's also a convenient powder bath and closet that cleverly conceals a full size stacked washer and dryer.
Open up the back doors and let the sounds of nature in. You'll hear the sounds of the river at it rushes by and winds through the forest. Step out onto the covered wrap around deck. This space offers lots of spaces with comfy outdoor seating to take in the views and watch the abundant wildlife. A great spot to relax year round: the space stays cool in summer or cozy up to the gas fire table with a glass of wine and Pendleton blankets. Steps lead down to the fenced side yard and makes a great spot to watch the kids play. A short pathway leads to the sparkling new hot tub! Get your cameras ready to take pics of the wildlife that frequents this part of the neighborhood!
Just off the game room, another exterior door leads to steps that go down to the fenced side yard, parking area, and downstairs back porch. The spiral staircase leads down to a charming sleep space, so inviting and cozy you'll never need to leave! 2 queen beds with plush rugs and luxurious linens and furnishings. Plenty of seating to kick back and watch a movie or a quiet space to get a little work done. There's closet space and a full bath with single copper basin, storage and a gorgeous granite and stone walk-in shower. The lovely space has it's own back covered porch with seating and views of the river as it twists through the canyon. Just a few steps to the right to the fenced in side yard.

ACCESSING THE HOUSE: The parking area is gravel and on the right side of the house with parking for up to 3 vehicles. Stone steps lead down to the front door. The red door is unlocked and opens to the mud room. The interior door has the remotelock keypad for your code. Guests have full access of the home except for any locked doors that are for owner access only.
RIVER RULES: Swimming and wading are NOT permitted in the river. This is for your safety and protection of the river environment. The side yard is fenced. Do not climb over the fence to access the river.
The Neighborhood:
Ruidoso's Historic Upper Canyon follows the Rio Ruidoso. Winding roads pass through the mountains with tall pines, quaint bridges and lots of wildlife. Amazingly, you're only 7 minutes from Ruidoso's bustling Midtown and 9 minutes from Grindstone Lake. From Upper Canyon, it's just 7 miles to Ski Run Rd, the turn off to Ski Apache. The neighborhood is a quiet residential area, perfect for listening to the mountain breeze in the tall pines and star gazing at night.
Ruidoso is a picturesque alpine village nestled in the the Lincoln National Forest of Lincoln County, boasting some of the greatest areas for outdoor adventure with over 10 miles of hiking and biking trails, 3 area lakes, championship golf, and more. A day trip can be filled with amazing natural wonders at White Sands National Monument, and Valley of Fire State Park. History buffs will enjoy a short drive to Fort Stanton and even Old Lincoln, the city were Billy the Kid made his famous escape! Head to Ruidoso Downs and watch the quarter horse races live! In the winter months hit the slopes at Ski Apache. Packed with fun and adventure, Heaven's Peak provides the perfect vacation home to create lasting memories.
Getting Around:
Roads through the neighborhood are paved. Some areas around Ruidoso and Alto are hilly to mountainous but generally easy to get around year round. During winter months, guests are encouraged to have access to 4-wheel drive and/or snow chains in the event of a major winter weather event. Check weather and road conditions before travel.
