Positive: I was in my 9th week on the island when I found this gorgeous brand-new beach resort. It has spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, comfy beds, quality toiletries, hotel slippers and robes, wifi and cell service, a wide swimming pool, a gym, decent breakfast and restaurant menu, friendly staff, perfectly serene location, and a pleasant overall aesthetic.
Negative: I’d definitely come back and recommend this place, hopefully when these are addressed: -No bathroom exhaust fans -No bedroom fridge, kettle, and safety deposit box. These are common room amenities in Siquijor even at cheaper accommodations. -The tv does not allow Netflix, Amazon Prime and any non-Chinese streaming services. -Each bed only had 1 pillow. We had to request extra pillows which they graciously provided :) -No beach towels. They give us white bathroom towels for the pool, instead. -Backup generators were not automatic(?) If power goes out past midnight, you might not have electricity unless the owner/staff wakes up and switches it on. (“Brownouts” are an everyday occurrence in Siquijor.) -Everyone is sweet and polite! But they need training. For instance, they didn’t proactively take empty glasses and plates off our table despite being the only guests at the restaurant most times. -They tend to forget requests, e.g. massage therapists. We had to regularly check in with them and ended up not getting any. Deja Vu was only in its first month when we stayed. And it has great potential beyond its Instagram-worthy look. I hope I get to enjoy the improvements soon! :)
