Positive: Great experience at this location! Property was very clean and well appointed. My wife and I shared a room with my 5 year old son, and the host accommodated us with an air mattress at no extra cost. Ankur was a very friendly and professional host. Communication was excellent and prompt. Host lives upstairs and would get back to our texts immediately and help us with any issues that arose within minutes. It was so nice having a kitchen/lounge area with fridge, freezer, stove, oven, toaster, Keurig, kettle, microwave, table and seating area. Also included a large modern bedroom with TV, fireplace, desk, seating and storage. This gave my son plenty of space to spread out and play. It was also great having access to a washer/dryer. In past visits to other accommodations, we were never able to do laundry without having to leave our suite or use coins, so this was a great luxury without having to leave our suite. This allowed us to clean our clothing mid-way through our trip, and before leaving, so were weren't packing dirty laundry to bring home. Very nice! Like the rest of the unit, the bathroom was clean and modern with great water pressure and glass enclosure. Honestly, staying here felt more like a 5 star hotel than an airbnb. There were even some free k-cups and snacks in the kitchen when we arrived, which was a nice touch. It was great being so close to public transit bus routes and main roadway arteries that connect all over the city. The gas station across the street was a convenient spot for parking, gas, and to purchase anything you needed without having to drive anywhere. There was also a grocery store, dollar store, and restaurant a short distance down the road. In summary, this was a great experience and I would not hesitate to stay here for future visits. Negative: These few points aren't negatives, just suggestions to make things even better. 1.) It would have been nice to have a small TV with an adjustable angle mount somewhere in the kitchen so you could watch TV from the couch or dinette while having breakfast, or to watch a movie at night while the rest of your party sleeps in the other room. 2.) There did not appear to be any lock on the main bedroom door. To be clear, the overall apartment was completely secure and lockable from the inside by the front door deadbolt, but for added peace of mind (especially for a lone female traveler) an additional lock for the main bedroom would have been a nice addition. 3.) The AC was nice and cold for the summer, but at night it was a little chilly. There was no direct way to control the thermostat as I think it's set for the entire house by the host, but the room did have an electric fireplace/heater that you could control to heat the bedroom and offset the cold air. You could also manually shut the ceiling vent, and there were plenty of blankets, so despite not being able to have direct and separate thermostat control, you were still able to dial things in to meet your preferences. The chance of being "too cold" is a far better issue to have in the summer than having to worry about things being "too hot" due to any lack of AC. This was not a problem for us, as temps were kept nice and cool by the host. 4.) Last thing to note, this property is located in an area of the city that I would consider "a good part of town" but with the rise of homelessness in Toronto, it's a good idea to be aware of your surroundings when going to/from your vehicle at the gas station parking lot. The host has bright motion lights at the entrance of the property, and the gas station and street are well lit, so it's not something I'd worry about too much, but I did see a few vagrants wandering about.
