3 Bedroom Cabin in Saint Andrews, Coalmont

Relax and renew on The Cumberland Plateau at Whimsy Tree! Nestled on a wooded four acres, overlooking a rippling creek, and situated in a gated (but rustic) community, this log cabin is truly your “home” during your stay, and not just a traditional rental. Whimsy Tree, named for the towering native hemlock that leans and sways “whimsically” at the corner of the side and front porch, is filled with love and fun! Experience the adjacent Savage Gulf State Natural Area. There is plenty of hiking in the 11,500 acre park and only a short distance from the cabin! The great room, which features 24’ ceilings and a wood burning fireplace, is perfect to relax or entertain. The master bedroom and the guest bedroom are located downstairs, and each has queen beds. The master bedroom has private access to the front porch. The loft upstairs has three twin beds, and each with trundle allowing the loft to sleep six. There are two full bathrooms, one on each floor. The kitchen is fully equipped. The cabin offers Wi-Fi, Stream TV, DVD players upstairs and down, with a nice collection of movies for all ages. The cabin is stocked with games and puzzles. Outside of the red shed there is a basketball court, and fire pit. Whimsy Tree has been a family centered getaway since 2007. It is centrally located to many wonders of nature. Some of our favorites are located within The South Cumberland State Recreation Area, including Stone Door, The Blue Hole (a great swimming hole), Greeter Falls, Foster Falls, Fiery Gizzard Trail, and Grundy Lakes (with historic coke ovens) for swimming, paddling, walking and picnicking. This recreation area offers even more sites for hiking, backpacking, nature study, camping, rock climbing and repelling. Off the plateau, in Pelham, check out The Caverns, home of Bluegrass Underground. Take a day trip to raft the Ocoee, or visit one of several festivals in Beersheba, Ketner’s Mill, and Bonnaroo in Manchester, just to name a few. Sewanee and The University of The South offer breathtaking views and quaint little restaurants and shops. Also near that location is the Mountain Goat Trail for bicycling. Canoe the Sequatchie.
