Positive: I liked the outdoor seating available with chairs on the front deck and a picnic table between the cabins. You can park your car right in front of the cabin. The self check-in and check-out process was easy and hot showers are available day and night. It was also cool that the "streets" on the property have names, and there are outdoor games available for families to enjoy. I chose this cabin for its proximity to Cal Poly Humboldt and was not disappointed. It is about halfway between Arcata and Eureka and the cabins are much more affordable than the hotels in either town. Although small, they sleep three with a queen bed below a twin on the top bunk.
Negative: The prices on the items in the gift shop were too high to justify buying a souvenir there. There are so many RV campsites that the whole property is crammed full of families and the pool isn't relaxing, but overrun with kids. However, if you are travelling with kids they will have plenty of playmates outside the tiny cabin. It is easy to miss the entrance to the property from the highway at night.
Summary: Convenient and Affordable Option When Helping Your Freshman Student Move in at Cal Poly Humboldt.
