Beautiful 17 inch lodgepole pine cabin on the Flathead River with 8 acres and private island complete with swimming hole.. Lots of wildlife and stunning sunsets! Located just minutes from Glacier International Airport (FCA) as well as Glacier Park! Scenic points to enjoy are Glacier National Park where you can see wildlife such as elk, deer, bear, eagles and the famous mountain goats, Whitefish Mountain Resort for winter skiing and summer hiking, the artisan village of Bigfork and of course pristine Flathead Lake. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and gives Tahoe a run for the money! Private 8 acre parcel is nestled among working wheat, potato, canola fields as near Firefly, a therapeutic equine therapy program. Beware of Pierre the ornery pheasant who's been known to look in windows. This home is great for family or group vacations as the upstairs has the master suite, kitchen, and gas fireplace along with hardwood floors and colorful handmade wool rugs. The entire cabin just underwent renovation and is elegant yet cozy too.The downstairs has a wood burning fireplace, large living room and two bedrooms with full bathroom. There is also a king leather couch which serves as another bed if needed. For the adventurous, there is a loft for kids to sleep in over the garage complete w a wood burning cast iron stove for those chilly nights! There is a boathouse complete w wind chimes, hammock and chairs. The back has a large covered deck, patio furniture, picnic table , fire bowl and grill located near the new firepit. The front porch faces the Swan mountains which light up at sunset. Comes complete with lawn chairs and fireplace warmers and a beaver lodge on the island banks. This place is decked out and ready for that perfect vacation! When my children were young and we traveled they loved nests, closets, special rooms etc. so our log cabin has this cozy safe nest downstairs right under the staircase... Check it out! It's fun with quilts and blankets and a lantern! It is worth noting that we have 5 recent guests who have booked returning vacations and one has referred a friend who loved the place. After a long day of Glacier National Park expeditions you can come home to your private resort with riverfront Jacuzzi, Sauna and adjacent fire pit! Shhhh and the pheasants, wild turkey, Canadian geese and deer will be by. Just may see the local blackbear and cubs passing through. Consistently rated among top 50 Montana Vacation Rentals... and not at the bottom of that list-YAY! Astronomers- DARK SKY designation in Glacier National Park. Stunning stars etc at night! This is one you DO NOT want to miss this! Amazing stars and planets. Umm not politically correct but you likely will see more than stars and planets! This area has a very interesting history of ufos! Never believed until I saw them several times. Meet big sky country!! There is a 5 night minimum stay and discount for bookings over 10 days! Everyone booking 3-5 nights the last five years regretted not having more time- lots to see and do...2020 update.
