Summary: The balcony garden MAKES this place more than just a place to stay. There are herbs. There are grapes, olives and all manner of fauna. There's also a grand view of the Eiffel Tower. Quite honestly it's magical. The space inside is quirky and lived in with an artist's touch. (I loved living in someone else's space but fair disclosure, my dad would have preferred something less "lived in". Although he would agree the stunning garden on the balcony made it all worthwhile.) This apartment is cleverly decorated with art and a little whimsy. The lighting is lovely. It's a great spot to relax when you need a break from your touring. When we arrived (late due to a freakish train delay) Manuel was a gracious and patient host. I loved the music he was playing so much I bought the cd for home. Manuel made a point to make us feel welcome. He made sure we knew how to use the amenities. He also gave some great suggestions for things to see/do in Paris at the moment. The place is outside of the craziness of more centrally located arrondissements but really conveniently located. There are two metro lines nearby and I found both to be really convenient toward getting to pretty much everything I wanted. And that garden provided a great respite and a feeling of actually living in Paris outside of the touristy events we wanted to see during the day. Some notes: It has a washing machine! And elevators! yay! It doesn't have air conditioning (alot of Paris flats don't). Fortunately the heat broke shortly after we arrived, but even during the heat, the apartment was surprisingly cooler than I expected it to be. In the cooler air, this flat is a DREAM. The shower requires one to climb into it. This wasn't the best option for my Dad who has some health issues. Really take a look at the shower requirements when traveling with older folk. That said, we made do. I would absolutely book this place again in Paris!
