Summary: Pros: nice host, communicated promptly before and during our stay. There was a short power outage (obv not her fault) & she kept in touch throughout. We had an issue with a foggy hot tub & some nature detritus accumulated in the bottom, and they came out to remedy that for us. The house itself is lovely, location was nice. We loved being in the woods and even saw a bear mosey up the driveway at one point which was lovely. Cons: Very disappointed in the general shape & cleanliness of this home, esp given the cost. When we arrived, we had a lot of difficulty even getting in the door. This difficulty continued throughout the stay, it was very hard to open the front door. Upstairs bathroom had crusted pee on the toilet seat, as well as a dark curly little hair right on the flusher. The longer we were inside, the more things like this we noticed. Microwave was mostly clean but there was splatter on the sides and it had a strong smell. Fridge smelled weird. The entire house, really, had an extremely strong smell that I tried to assume was just Old House, but I also got frequent whiffs of what smelled like old dog pee. The downstairs bathroom light flickered so bad it made me sick to use it. The master bath was absolutely infested with ants. Huge yellowjacket infestation by the pool. Would be 5* with a better cleaning crew. We did bring up cleanliness, host said she'd never had this complaint but there are other comments here with similar issues so seems like an ongoing problem
