We only accept long-term stays by the month. No short-term stays. You can book for 32 nights, and then discuss additional months or years if needed at the end of the first month. We follow safety rules and guidelines from the U.S. Center for Disease Control in regards to protecting our home from the Coronavirus.You must be fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus to stay in the house and show proof of your vaccinations. In the house and outside of the house, we wear masks, practice social distancing, wash our hands, use sanitizer and limit people who enter the house to only the people who are staying at the house. Only one person, or two if it is your roommate booked to stay in the house, is allowed to cook in the kitchen or be in the TV/Library room at the same time. Everyone must wear a mask in all public areas of the house. Your acceptance to be a guest in the house and to continue to stay at the house depend on your acceptance and understanding that Coronavirus is very contagious, easily contracted and that you must follow all safety rules of the house and be responsible by being vaccinated with the latest COVID vaccine within two months of your arrival and wearing your mask in the house if required. Please answer the following questions, and please note that if your booking request is accepted; your moving into the house is your acceptance of the agreement that the owner of the house will not be held liable if you contract the Coronavirus during your stay or after. Please also note that anyone who does not follow the health safety rules will be asked to leave the house without a refund.

More than 600 professionals and international students have stayed here and still call Mom's House their U.S. home. We have several furnished rooms in our beautiful-lakefront house in Bowie near Washington, DC. We live in the house and guests lovingly call me Mom. I am a broadcast journalist/writer and university professor who teaches Communications/Media Studies and English to non-native speakers. I have been hosting in my home since 2009. Bus stop to metro to Washington, D.C is near the house. Churches, new public library, malls, soccer fields, restaurants and Six Flags Amusement Park are near the house. The house is also just a short drive to Annapolis. People fish in the lake across from the house in summer. Jog, ride your bicycle and simply enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons. Enjoy the hospitality and just like home atmosphere at Mom's House. You must pay the cost of your first month's stay immediately after booking. After booking, we will discuss options for your first month's payment via PayPal or Venmo. Please also provide a photo Identification, a passport or U.S. driver's license upon your arrival. Only the person or persons on the booking will be allowed to enter the house.
We do not provide meals or transportation. Parking is available on the street in front of the house. No alcohol, no drugs, no smoking, no vaping, no cigars, no hookah and no weapons or violence of any kind are allowed in the house or on the property. Cigarette smoking is allowed outside in a designated area. We treat everyone with respect and kindness. We respect quiet times and avoid loud noise and music that would disturb other guests.
