Welcome to our home. It has plenty of space (3507s.f 2847s.f. on the 1st and 2nd floors, 660s.f. in the finished lower level) to relax with your family and friends.
There is 3 night minimum for the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years eve.
***PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY*** Depending on your needs, you may choose 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the upper 2 levels for up to 8 guests, or 4 bedrooms and 4 baths (including the recently finished lower level) for up to 10 guests (an extra guest will apply - $160/night + 11% tax). An extra $65 cleaning fee will be requested separately after the reservation is made as the web site does not support this.
Any size group (10 maximum) may reserve the lower level but the extra guest/cleaning fee will apply. Simply select 9 guests to reserve the lower level. If the lower level is not added, it will be locked and not accessible. ***PLEASE INQUIRE IF THIS IS NOT CLEAR***
The home is centrally located and close to all of the Galena Territory amenities. An open floor plan, comfortable furniture, and designer touches make this an unforgettable experience. The home sits high on a 2.5 acre lot ensuring privacy and peaceful quiet, with stunning views of the gorgeous Galena "Driftless" countryside.
The formal, main entrance is protected by a covered porch (with 2 Adirondack chairs, a perfect location to watch for the large family of wild turkeys that call our road home) and features massive, thick double wood doors and a stone foyer with large closet. The foyer is adjacent to the 2nd floor staircase with its beautiful, custom maple hand rail.
The kitchen is fully equipped (Viking cooktop, oven, microwave, toaster, food processor, dishwasher). There is an island with 3 stools for casual dining. The coffee and wine wet bar features a wine refrigerator, sink, and coffee maker, coffee cups, and wine glasses.
The dining room has a beamed ceiling, large table, and plenty of seating.
The living room has a leather sofa/loveseat facing a floor-ceiling stone wood-burning fireplace and TV armoire (with YouTubeTV, Netflix, and DVD). Off to the side is a Barcelona chair/ottoman that is perfect for reading. In between the dining and living rooms is a game table and chairs for family entertainment. The living room ceiling is vaulted and clad in rustic stained cedar. The room is filled with windows and includes a door to the rear deck.
One guest bedroom (1 queen bed, 1 twin bed) with bathroom is located on the first floor.
The second floor landing overlooks the foyer and living room with access to a vaulted 2nd guest bedroom (with full bath, 1 queen bed, 1 twin bed) and primary bedroom.
The vaulted primary bedroom overlooks the Galena Territory through large windows with panoramic views. There is a king bed, flat screen TV, and abundant closet space. The primary bath has a double vanity, stand-alone claw-foot tub, walk-in shower, and separate toilet room. The primary bedroom also has a private balcony with a table and chairs.
Both 2nd floor bathrooms have supplemental thermostat-controlled electric heaters.
There is a mud room with washer/dryer and plenty of room to put all of your miscellaneous gear. It has a separate entry door.
The large screened porch is adjacent to the dining room and has plenty of comfortable, cushioned wicker furniture. It's a great spot to enjoy the views and a glass of wine. There is also a large open deck with seating and a hammock that is accessible from the living room, dining room or the screened porch.
Stunning new walk-out lower level adds 660s.f. and includes a cozy living area with TV and gas fireplace, kitchenette (w/refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher), sitting area with queen Murphy bed, bedroom w/king bed, and 3/4 bath with heated floor.
The Galena area is amazing; stunningly beautiful and close to a wide array of destinations and activities. Guests in the Galena Territory can enjoy the Owner's Club (indoor and outdoor pools, fitness center, gymnasium, game room, snack bar), cross-country skiing, riding and walking trails, equestrian center, marina (canoe, kayak, paddleboat), as well as nearby year-round Galena attractions. The Galena Territory also features 4 golf courses, including the renowned “General” course, 2 restaurants, spa, and a general store.
Guest wifi is available. No pets please. No smoking (except for front porch and rear, open deck).
