Private set in the woods, quiet dune setting. Walk right out the door onto the dunes of the beach. The cottage is an authentic Up North experience built mid-century in the A-frame style. Quintessential cozy family gathering space. A private dunescape setting in the woods on the shore of Lake Michigan. This location is the premier most spot in all of Leelanau County. If you could take a pin and place it at the center of all Leelanau has to offer AND be right on the big lake this would be the precise destination. Quiet and private nestled in the forest yet still close to the villages of Leland, Lake Leelanau, Suttons Bay, Northport, Omena, Maple City, Glen Arbor. Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore starts approximately 1/2 mile down the shore with access to pristine beaches, dunes to climb, and endless fresh water to enjoy. The cottage provides a picture framed floor-to-ceiling window view from the living-dining space with panoramic views of the expanse of Good Harbor Bay, Pyramid Point, and the Manitou Island Passage. From the beach, you may take in the view to the north of Whaleback Point and on a clear day the Fox Islands archipelago. Favorite things to do are walking the beach rock hunting, swimming&snorkeling in Big Blue, stargazing, reading, or enjoying a family meal on the expansive deck overlooking the water. Bike out your door to world class cycling along M22 or the Heritage Bike Trail 3 miles to the south. Leelanau Conservancy's Palmer Wood mountain bike trail is 3.5 miles to the south. Easy access to Leelanau Conservancy hikes at Whaleback Trailhead and Clay Cliffs just south and north of Leland approximately 6 miles to the north.
