Long Lake is the deepest of the Fish River chain of lakes and covers 6000 acres with a maximum water depth of 163 ft., and over 7 miles long. The surrounding land is primarily forest land and agricultural. The 1600 sq. ft. Lake House sleeps 6 adults (additional guests require cost increase and prior authorization from owner) comfortably in addition to basement space offering a pool table, piano, and lakeside level access. The cottage has a fully-equipped kitchen with all appliances including microwave, convection oven, stove, warming drawer, and coffee maker. Other features include Canadian rockers, a king Master bed with comfortable mattress/pads/linens attached to a half bath. The 2nd Bedroom is a queen size with comfortable mattress/pads/linens. The 3rd bedroom offers full size bunk beds with comfortable mattresses/pads/linens. A 2nd full bathroom is furnished with bath and beach towels. A wraparound deck allows for full lake visibility and lounging. A screened in gazebo on deck allows for outdoor dining, relaxation, happy hour, reading, bird watching, chess matches, etc. A large propane-fueled grill is located on the deck near an adjoining door to the kitchen. Other amenities include a private boat-launching ramp, high-speed internet, ceiling fans, a/c, radiant heat fireplace, washer and dryer, satellite TV, family games, life jackets, pool table, windsurfer, outdoor fire pit, hammock, croquet set, and a piano. This vacation Lake House sits in a coved area on Long Lake, ideal for viewing bald eagles and fishing daily in front of the cottage. It is situated in a private location, which requires access to this part of the lake via private road or water. There is no thruway traffic! This year round Lake House could not be duplicated today being a mere 20 feet from the water’s edge. It features water views throughout the lakeside of the cottage. It is a bird watcher’s haven with a bald eagle nest around the bend. Located in a peaceful and quiet part of the lake, the property is surrounded with an international twist of camp owners, both French Canadians and Americans. Acadian and Irish Settlers were the first to inhabit the area with a strong Native American presence. The small-town spirit and appreciation for their heritage is quite evident today as the French language is commonly heard. There is a 40’ private dock for fishing, swimming, lounging. The lake has a shallow entry from the shoreline with a gradual increase in depth that is ideal for children and older adults. Ducks, loons, eagles will be constant water companions. Salmon, brook trout, trout, rainbow smelt are the principal fishery. The lake supports a sport fishery for brook trout and landlocked salmon of statewide significance with salmon averaging 16” in length. Ice fishing is open January 1 through March 31.
