This recent Nantucket Shingle Style Waterfront Home is located on NARROWS ISLAND in Long Island Sound. The island is part of the archipelago known as the Thimble Islands. It is the only island of the Thimbles with a bridge, making it accessible by car as well as by boat. The property provides 360 degree water views. The home is one of only three residences on this four and a half (4.5) acre island. The Island is the perfect place for you, your family and your friends to enjoy a vacation with spectacular views and amenities. Wake to a spectacular sunrise. Dine on the front deck and watch the boats sailing by. Enjoy the hundreds of flowers. Lounge in the large granite beachfront cabana while experiencing the fabulous views of the Thimbles. Explore an uninhabited island or sun, swim, fish or kayak from either of the two(2) private beaches just a step away. At the end of the day, take in unsurpassed sunsets while soaking in the 7 person private hot tub. For the boater, there is direct water access from the private floating dock and use of a mooring in the secluded cove. The central air-conditioned home offers beautiful hardwood floors and stone tiles. It is furnished with nautical antiques and casual elegance. There are three (3) spacious bedrooms; 2 with additional sleeping lofts above. The main bath has a shower and a whirpool tub. The great room has a two-story high ceiling with plenty of room for conversation, TV, music or games and puzzles. If you can pull yourself away from this island retreat for a time, you may want to cruise the Thimble Islands on a tour boat, visit our local craft breweries or venture into town to the Historic Guilford Green. The green is lined with wonderful boutique shopping, jewelry stores, spa, gourmet coffee, ice cream and chocolate shop, galleries, restaurants, library and classic antique homes. We provide a detailed Guest Directory with local menus and brochures. If you desire a longer jaunt, then try a short drive to shop the designer outlets of Clinton, visit a local winery, tour the Yale Campus in New Haven, play golf at a local course, hike the grounds of Gillette Castle or visit Mystic Seaport. In the evening you may cruise the Connecticut River from Essex or try your luck at Foxwoods Casino or Mohegan Sun. Situated in the geographical center of the Northeast, Guilford is just a short ride from New York, Boston, Hartford and Providence using either I-95 or the Shore Line Train. The Island is less than five miles from the train station and conveniently located for travel to major airports: New York - 1 1/2 hours, Hartford - 1 hour, Providence - 1 hour, Boston - 2 hours, and New Haven - 15 minutes.
