Please check to be sure you are viewing our rates in CANADIAN dollars, not American dollars. If it doesn't have CAD or CA behind it, or if you don't see a Canadian flag, you are not viewing Canadian dollar rates. Go to the drop-down menu on the RHS of page to scroll to Canadian currency, etc. If the rate is in American dollars, it will make the cost look less than it really is.
We allow for self check-in and contactless entry with door codes.
Keep the place clean & organized during your stay. (See house rules, pet rules and the checkout check list under rental agreement.)
Always tell me if you are bringing pets and how many.
If it rains, it will get muddy. Have a plan to keep your pet clean. Doggie raincoats, doggie boots, controlled walks or keeping them inside are ideas that come to mind. If you are not careful, mud will get everywhere. You must clean it up!
Please, always pick up after your pets, in the yard, and anywhere else in the summer village.
You and your family can have a wonderful time at this vintage styled cabin on the north side of Pigeon Lake, 10 minutes south of Thorsby. It can can sleep 6 to 8 comfortably.
Make the experience merrier by adding more. As an added bonus, there is room for a large RV on the west side of the property. The RV rental includes water and power.
In the cabin, everything is included: bedding, towels, toilet paper, kitchen essentials, hand soap and shower soap. Imagine long weekends basking in the sun or waterskiing, then eating s’mores in the evening, around the camp fire.
The cabin was gutted and renovated to 2013 building code standards. It boasts all stainless steel appliances, convection oven, large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, dining nook, surround sound, DVD player, docking station/speakers, two televisions, washer & dryer, wired-in smoke & carbon monoxide detectors and much more.
This cabin also has an extensive range of cookware and utensils to make gourmet meals. There is a mortar and pestle, whole peppercorns, a spice carousel, cast iron pans, an indoor smokeless grill (please use it under the vent), a lobster pot, a melon baller, a potato masher, turkey baster, a veggie spiralizer, a heavy duty French fry maker, a food processor, a large crock pot, a popcorn maker, a rolling pin, measuring spoons, a pie plate, loaf pan, flour sifter, rolling pin, as well as 2 chef's knives, utility knives, knife sharpener, a garlic press, a cake pan, wild-life themed cookie cutters, a cookie sheet pan, a pizza pan, a cast iron pizza pan for the barbecue, and much more on site.
The cabin has one queen-size bed, 2 double/full bunk-beds, and one double/full hide-a-bed in the living room. This lake lot is fully fenced.
It's just around the corner from the boat launch, and it takes 7 minutes to walk to the closest beaches. It also backs on to walking/cycling/snow skiing trails and a nature reserve.
We only take bookings of a week at a time in the summer. Current rates for the cabin range between 225 to 260 per night. The minimum stay ranges between 3 nights to a week at a time.
The RV accommodation sits at $50 CAD per night. If the system does not let you book more than one week at a time, message me and I can change the reservation on my end, manually.
By way of design, our location on Golden Days Beach, is super quiet. There is only one road in and out. So traffic is minimal and peace and quiet is optimal. It makes birdwatching a snap, relaxing by the fire a breeze and enjoying the sun and scenery an easy luxury.
We have a large fire pit area that begs for visits from hungry hotdog & marshmallow-eating monsters. Overhead, vintage-style lighting will remind you of nights spent up way past your bed time. And, later on the swaying poplars will sing you to sleep. Our pretty little Pigeon Lake cabin will cradle you in its arms and take good care of you & your family the whole time you are here!
(If you would like to rent the cabin, plus the RV spot (with water & electricity hookups), go ahead and book as usual, as if you were only renting the cabin (as set up by VRBO and HOMEWAY). After that is done, a separate funds request will be made to pay for the RV rental. Please stipulate in messages to me, the owner, your interest in renting the extra RV spot. And, I will send the request to cover the RV charge.
As well, please communicate with me, in messages, whether you are planning on bringing pets, how many and how big they are. At this point, we ask all guests to bring no more than 3 dogs per stay (no other types of pets allowed.)
Please bring your own beach towels.
We have 6 nightlights inside the cottage so you can see where you are going when you get up at night for that drink of water. There is one in the kitchen, three in the living room, one in the utility room, one in the bathroom.
Some important rules & info follow: (See rental agreement for more clarification.)
Self check-in/contactless entry. No tobacco products, e-cigarettes, or vaping inside the cabin. You must pick up after your dog. Only 3 dogs are allowed per stay. No other types of pets allowed. Do not let them destroy the furniture with mud & their claws, dig up the yard, etc. Please mind your kids--No eating on the couches. Food stains on the couch are not acceptable. Look under the furniture, that’s where the crayons and socks went. No guests over and above those in the reservation. No other guests are allowed ever, unless prior notice given. Keep the gate closed
Every rental situation is different. Please do not assume what you did at one rental is the same at ours. There is more detailed information in the House Rules & the Check Out Check List.
Never arrive before 3:01 pm.
We do not provide early check-ins or late checkouts.
Please bring dog beds, dog towels, food scoops, bowls, poo bags & wipes for your pet.
You must have a plan to keep your pet from tracking mud into the cabin and onto the cabin's furniture, rugs and curtains.
There are two mats for muddy footwear. But taking your pet on controlled walks and keeping them inside will keep them from getting covered in mud. Consider a doggie rain coat and doggie shoes. There are lots of them out there for purchase.
Don’t wash your pet in the cabin. A muddy, wet, dirty dog will inevitably shake and muddy water droplets get on the ceiling, the curtains, the cupboards, the appliances, the furniture. If mud gets everywhere, clean it up.
If you insist on washing your pet in the cabin, use the tub. Clean up all of the mud and muddy water droplets and wash the shower curtains. Do not wash a pet in the sink, the muddy water droplets wind up on the kitchen curtains (hard to wash), on the ceiling and appliances.
We have a patio, a fire pit, barbecue, outdoor recliners and seating everywhere, wiener sticks, outdoor dining tables, and wide open space for games, and, a fence that will help corral pets and children. However, in the fall and winter, the outdoor dining table and chairs are put away. You can still use the fire pit and the outdoor chairs stored in the Greenlee box outside. But please keep the lid closed on this box at all times. Otherwise, rain and/or snow will get inside and destroy everything.
We have two outdoor games stored at the cabin, on top of the blue armoire—-a bean bag toss and modern (safe) lawn darts. NEW—table tennis.
The grass gets mowed and the plants get watered and fertilized on Fridays and/or Sundays. Guests also keep the plants watered during their stay. Conversely, please get plants out of the rain, if they are getting water-logged. I can’t keep them looking pretty and fresh for your stay when I can only give them attention and get access to them once a week.
In winter, the driveway gets cleared of snow on Fridays and/or Sundays.
Streaming channels are Disney Plus, Crave, Amazon Prime & Netflix. We also have a Smart TV so you can access your own steaming accounts.
