Positive: The apartment is reasonably close to Atocha station (subway and trains), which makes it strategic to visit the city or move around even outside of Madrid. It takes approx. It takes approx. 14 minutes on foot. to reach Atocha station. The apartment develops on two floors, ground floor and basement. In the ground floor you will find a living room with sofa bed, one bathroom with shower and one large kitchen (fully equipped with a large refrigerator). In the basement floor there is another room with a double bed, a wardrobe another bathroom (with large shower). The WiFi worked great, the signal was a bit weak in the basement floor, but still usable. The place was overall cozy and clean and silent at night. I think it would be quite enjoyable for couples or families with up to 4 members. Communication with the host was very efficient, he responded right away providing support when needed.
Negative: Bed mattresses were not very comfortable. In the ground floor there is air conditioning with heat pump to warm up living room+kitchen and bathroom. Unfortunately, there is no way to warm up the room in the basement floor - this may be a problem in the coldest part of winter. The place has self-checkin - at arrival the host sends a code to be used with a safe hanging from a window on the street (instructions are provided on arrival). In my case, the safe did not work - this was a minor problem which did not affect my experience, as the host immediately came to hand me a copy of the key. All in all, I consider this a nice place and I would come back again. Investment on a heating system for the room in the basement floor and better mattresses would make it just perfect.
