Reminiscent of the elegance of a Hawaiian era gone by, this chic and comfortable duplex just had a complete transformation. The two plantation cottages have separate living areas and separate kitchens , each with 2 bedrooms & 1 bath, totaling 4 bedrooms ( 3 king beds, 1 queen) and 2 oversized bathrooms.
Cottage # 1 has a Tommy Bahama King bed in the master suite and a woven Malabar queen bed in the second bedroom along with a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.
Cottage # 2 has king beds in each bedroom along with an oversized completely remodeled bathroom with double lavs.
The two cottages do not share living spaces but there is a huge lanai that connects the cottages so guests can mingle, eat meals & enjoy time after the beach. The separate cottages allow guests to escape when they want quiet time & provide privacy for different families....the best of all worlds !
Located only 4 homes from the most beautiful beach in the world, it is a mere 1 minute walk. The lushly landscaped yard is a tropical paradise with expansive grass area surrounded by banana, papaya, & mango trees. The massive plumeria tree adjacent the huge lanai is the most tranquil setting to lounge.
Our home can easily accommodate 10 people and is beautifully furnished Hawaiian style. There are a total of 3 king beds, 1 queen and a queen sleeper sofa and futons for children as well as a pack n play for infants make this an ideal setting for extended families and large groups
The previous owners of the property called it the ' Beach Huts in the VRBO listing & we realized that this understated the home so we changed the description to the Plantation Cottages which is much more appropriate. All the previous reviews reference the Beach Huts so don't be confused, same property, different name.
We repaired & re-built the secluded swimming pool which was damaged in the last hurricane. This is the only property along the Poipu beach coast with a swimming pool. The previous owners could not afford to make the repairs & it took over a year to complete. The massive lava wall, lush landscaping , gated entry offer a one a kind experience.
We just completed re-building the studio pool house ( June 2018) directly adjacent the pool but separated by a 6' high lava wall. This studio is currently managed by a local friend as a separate vacation rental & listed as VRBO # 1382042. It is available as an extra accommodation for our property at an additional cost of approximately $300 /night plus taxes, fees & has a queen bed, kitchen, full bath & sleeper sofa to accommodate 4 people. When we renovated the swimming pool we installed a solar powered energy saving circulating pump which functioned extreme well for 5 years. However the 70' towering monkey pod trees on the adjacent property created too much shade & the pump could not keep the pool clean. After receiving numerous complaints, we abandoned the solar system & installed a conventional electric circulating pump. It was installed in June 2023 & the pool now works perfectly and after a day at the beach it is welcome retreat, especially for children

Please be aware that our property is "L" shaped and the pool is not visible from our two cottages. We ask that you make sure the gate is closed at all times it is not being used.

In the evening, take a stroll under the moonlight to dine in any of the three restaurants that are just a walking distance away.
We have initiated extensive covid cleaning & disinfecting procedures. All sheets, blankets & towels will be sent to the local Koloa laundry company for professional cleaning. There will be an extra set of linens in each cottage, stored in bins. Please do not open or use these linens as they are intended for the next arriving guests.
