SPECIAL NOTE RELATED TO LONG-TERM OFF-SEASON BOOKINGS FROM 10/01/2019 THROUGH 05/31/2019. For nearly all of the 12 years we have offered the Alaska Northern Sands Suite as a vacation rental we have had a long-term guest book the Suite for the entire off season, sometime starting as early as September 1st. Such long-term rentals are exempt from the 12% local City & Borough of Juneau sales and room taxes and we offer a significant discount to the published monthly rate. In addition, we require a lease agreement for all long-term rentals. If you are interested in a long-term rental please inquire for more specific information. Alaska Northern Sands is located on the beach in Auke Bay. This premier rental offers high quality living with spectacular views and great ambiance. While private, it is centrally located with quick access to a wide variety of local activities and sights. We are located in a protected portion of the “Auke Bay banana belt”, where it rains only about half as much as it rains in downtown Juneau. Your stay in the Penthouse Suite also affords you direct and easy access to the beach as well as our beachfront gazebo. The AKNS Penthouse Suite The Alaska Northern Sands Suite is approximately 600 square feet. It is a fully furnished apartment with a completely outfitted kitchen. We also have a propane barbecue available for your use on the deck adjacent to your off-street parking area. The Suite has a separate bedroom with a queen bed. There is a full sized hide-a-bed in the living room. In the Suite’s bathroom there is a washer/dryer as well as an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. In addition to cable TV, wireless internet is available. A large covered deck with a table and chairs allows you to dine or relax just outside your front door, enjoying the surrounding ocean and garden views. Please note that we are a vacation rental, not a bed & breakfast or a hotel. Accordingly, we do not provide meals or daily maid service the Suite. AKNS is a non-smoking property, in the Suite as well as on the grounds. Check-in time is normally 4:00 pm although we can often check in guests earlier if we have had enough time to clean after our prior guests have departed. Normal check-out time is 10:00 am.
