Located right next to the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa on the mainland just before the Sanibel Island Causeway this 85 acre resort community boasts numerous services, amenities and restaurants. The location puts you in very close proximity to Sanibel Island with its beaches famous for sea shells, Fort Myers with the Edison Ford and Firestone winter home museums, Fort Myers Beach with all it's beach activities & Margaritaville Resort and the fast Key West Express boat. RSW International Airport, Bonita Springs, Naples and Marco Island are also within approximately a one-hour drive. Resort amenities include a heated swimming pool and spa, large private beach area, pickleball & tennis courts, basketball courts, nature walkways, and ample parking. Penthouse amenities include central air conditioning, ceiling fans, complimentary WiFi, all linens and towels provided and a private laundry room. There are also several great restaurant options throughout the Marriott Sanibel Harbour resort complex plus a luxury spa.
On arrival entry is through the main lobby and then by elevator to the 12th floor. On approaching there is a large covered and well-furnished balcony with breathtaking 180 degree views of the surrounding mainland and the Gulf of Mexico. Entering the front door brings you into the vast open plan foyer with half-bath, kitchen, dining, living areas and full wet bar, with ceilings going up two levels and surrounded by windows and sliding glass doors. Flooring is tile and carpeting throughout. Decor is beachy/nautical. The kitchen has an architectural tray ceiling and plenty of granite counterspace and cabinets with all the necessary items to prepare full course meals if so desired. Just bring the food! Appliances are all stainless-steel and include a Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer with water and ice dispenser in the door, a 4-burner glasstop Wolf range with food steamer, a built-in microwave oven, built-in convection oven, warming drawer and a Keurig coffee maker. There is also an island with a European style stainless-steel sink with disposal, dishwasher and cabinets on the kitchen side and on the living room side there are 5 high-boy bar stools. The dining area has a table seating six on an area rug. The adjacent living area has a semi-circular leather sofa with accent tables and two upholstered swivel chairs, all on an area rug. As noted the ceiling goes up to the second floor with upper windows and expansive sliding glass doors which open out onto Pine Island Sound. There is a screened-in walk-out balcony. Also in the living area is a wall-mounted large flat screen TV, as well as a complete separate bar with four high-boy bar chairs. The bar is complete with ice-maker, dishwasher, decorator sink and granite countertops. Adjacent to the bar is a hallway with large wine coolers and refrigerated drawers, and at the end of the hallway is the laundry room with full size washer and dryer. Circular stairs with glass steps go up to a separate entertainment area which is very nicely furnished, and includes a large leather sleeper-sofa, end table and lamp, two upholstered swivel chairs with cocktail table, futon, coffee table, all on an area rug. The view from here has the advantage of the upper windows overlooking the water. There is also a futon bed, as well as counter space with a mini fridge, mirrored closet doors and it's own bathroom which has a very nicely tiled walk-in shower with rain shower head, a hand-held shower, commode, wall-mounted urinal and vanity with decorator lavatory, wall mirror and storage space below; this area can be closed off with large heavy curtains to serve as a large comfortable 5th bedroom. There is a lot of recessed lighting throughout, custom cabinetry, simply a luxurious penthouse set-up.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed with night stands and wall-mounted lamps, plenty of closet space and a wall-mounted flat screen TV. The en suite bathroom has a garden jetted tub, L-shaped vanity with dual decorator lavatories, wall mirrors and storage space below. There is a walk-in closet with custom cabinets. There is a commode and a nicely tiled walk-in shower with rain shower head, hand-held shower and body wash sprays with glass wall and glass door. Adjacent to the bathroom through French doors is an office area furnished with custom cabinetry, a sofa, coffee table on an area rug and L-shaped desk with chair. There is also a door leading out to an open-air terrace. Sliding doors provide access into the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The first guest bedroom has a queen-size bed, custom cabinetry and two wall-mounted lamps, opposite which is a padded bench and wall-mounted flat screen TV. A door provides access to a small walk-out balcony. There is a closet with mirrored doors, then the en suite bathroom complete with commode, granite-top vanity, decorator lavatory, full wall mirror and storage space below. There is also a nicely tiled walk-in shower with glass walls and glass door, as well as rain shower head and body wash sprays. The second guest bedroom has two single beds, night stand with lamp, corner lamp, custom cabinetry with drawers and a bench, a wall-mounted flat screen TV and large walk-in closet. The en suite bath has again custom cabinetry with granite-top vanity and decorator lavatory with wall mirrors and storage space below. There is a commode and a nicely tiled walk-in shower with sliding glass doors, as well as rain shower head and body wash sprays. The fourth bedroom is a combo office with a full size futon sleeper sofa.
