A hidden gem! If you are looking for peace and tranquility yet within easy reach of local tourist attractions, beaches and amenities, then this unique detached character cottage offers just that. Tucked away on its own at the end of an unmade farm track, Pennant Cottage has always been a very special retreat for not just the owners but guests who return time and time again to savour the breath taking coastal and countryside views, combined with picturesque sunsets. Offering a high standard of accommodation yet still retaining original period features and a feeling of rustic charm, the property is accessed through a welcoming sun room. A further door leads into an inner lobby/utility area and hallway boasting original Delabole slate flooring and exposed beams. A lovely open-plan sitting/dining can be found just off this hallway with yet more exposed beams and a cosy open fireplace. Guests will find their modern creature comforts here too, with a TV, Smart Blu-Ray player and music bar. You will immediately be drawn to the bay window seat in the dining area which looks out towards open countryside, the sea and the rugged Cornish coastline including Tintagel Head, Port Isaac and on a clear day a glimpse of Lundy Island. Heading back into the hallway you step down into the kitchen, which has a homely feel and well-equipped with an integral electric oven and hob, microwave, Nespresso coffee maker and built in fridge and dishwasher. The utility room has a further fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, clothes airer and a place to dry wetsuits. The main bathroom is also situated on the ground floor and offers a bath, separate shower cubicle and WC. There is a narrow set of stairs leading to the 4 bedrooms, the first being a king size double with an ensuite shower room and french doors to a balcony where you can stand and enjoy the far reaching sea views and sunsets. The three further bedrooms are a double and two singles, two of which have sea views. Trevathan Farm is very nearby where there is a small shop, tea rooms and a play area for the children. Nothing is too far away if you are wishing to explore the delights of Cornwall with the fishing harbour of Port Isaac being the nearest, famously recognised as the location for the TV series Doc Martin and the renowned chef Jason Outlaw. A short walk away is a farm shop offering necessities for you to purchase. A little further afield is the popular town of Padstow which has become Cornwall’s food capital, thanks to its restaurants, seafood shops and connections to the chef Rick Stein. The dramatic rugged North Cornwall coastline of Trebarwirth Strand, Daymer Bay and Polzeath are close by with surf schools, cafes, bars, beautiful walks all of which will provide the most relaxing or adventurous memories to take home with you. The mystical town of Tintagel, home to the legendary King Arthur, is an easy drive from the property including the wizard Merlin’s beachfront cave. There are numerous attractions to suit all tastes including The Eden Project, Bodmin Jail’s newly opened museum, Land's End and National Trust properties One dog allowed/No hen/stag/party bookings, wi-fi is available A recent review : My friends and I had a lovely stay at Pennant Cottage - would highly recommend. The cottage is clean and cozy, with beautiful views of the countryside and the sea further out in the distance. Sheep and cows come to graze nearby - a very bucolic scene! Three of the four bedrooms have lovely views of the countryside. The kitchen is well equipped with plates, pans, utensils, a toaster and a dishwasher. There are board games in the cottage, comfortable couches, and a beautiful window seat looking out at the hills. Great location - private and quiet, but just a short drive to Port Isaac. The only negative was that wifi was spotty - it was adequate for our needs, but might not be for someone looking to work remotely!
