Welcome to the Pearson Street Jewelbox, in the heart of Milwaukee's desirable lower East Side. Built in the 1890s, this single-family cottage home has been lovingly restored merging the charm of its original design with all of today's modern features and comforts. Owned and decorated by artists, the home features eclectic antiques and collectibles, Mid-century and contemporary furnishings, vintage light fixtures, and amusing and delightful artwork. Just off the living room, you'll find a long bedroom with a queen bed, dresser, large custom-designed closet, stained glass window, large mirror and ensuite bathroom. The large bath has a roomy tiled shower. The dining room has a striking chandelier over an original Jens Risom dining table. The kitchen is completely remodeled and features a farm sink, stainless appliances, an artist designed metal table on wheels, and a vintage school bench. As frequent travelers, we understand what makes for an ideal stay. The Jewelbox is stocked with the essentials you expect, such as cookware, dishes, silverware, coffee pot, glasses, towels, linens and blankets. We've also added the extras you want, such as stemware, hotel quality sheets and pillows, books, artwork, cloth napkins, wooden hangers, a blender, an iron and ironing board, laundry detergent, hand cream, tea, bottled water, a bottle of wine, a few beers, snacks and more. You'll have the full first floor of the Jewelbox to enjoy. The unfinished second-floor attic and basement are closed off for storage. And during the warmer months, you'll love the adorable, secluded and landscaped backyard. We live just a few homes away and are available to assist, when and if needed. You can reach us by phone, text or email. Our charming and quiet oasis is just off Brady and Water Street, two of Milwaukee's most popular destinations. It’s within walking distance from many fine and casual dining spots, bars, coffee shops and two craft breweries. Several grocery stores are also within walking distance, including Glorioso's Italian Market, a Milwaukee landmark. The Jewelbox is also minutes away by car from downtown Milwaukee, the Lakefront, Fiserv Forum, Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Milwaukee School of Engineering and the Summerfest grounds. You can walk downtown or to the Lakefront in about 20 minutes. It's easy to reach downtown, the lakefront and other parts of the East Side on foot. Bikes are available for rent on Brady Street. Ubers usually arrive in less than five minutes of a request. Pearson Street is close to several major bus routes as well. Street parking is typically readily available right on Pearson Street, which offers angled parking. Milwaukee requires a permit for long-term street parking or you can register your car online for short-term stays. Note that 3 nights are complimentary. If you need to park for a 4 or more nights, you much purchase a $20 parking permit, which is available online.
