Brixton is a lively, multicultural area in zone 2 with fast tube connections to the city centre. It has street markets and shops, endless options for eating and drinking out, a cinema, theatre and music venues. It’s also famously where David Bowie grew up, and it has a strong and colourful Afro-Caribbean heritage. The house is also 5 minutes from Brockwell Park, one of the most beautiful parks in London with everything from a historic Lido to cafés, tennis courts and views of the city. Herne Hill is also close by, a relaxed neighbourhood with cafés, local delicatessens and pubs and a train to central London (Blackfriars, South Bank). This is a great alternative to taking the tube from Brixton.
Proximity to important locations in London
The house is an easy 10-12 minute walk from Brixton tube station. From Brixton, the Victoria line takes 10-15 minutes to central London (stops include Victoria station, Green Park for Buckingham Palace, and Oxford Circus for shopping). There are multiple bus routes from Brixton station to the house if you don’t want to walk or have luggage (2-3 bus stops, 5 minutes). Bus routes include 45, 59, 118, 133, 159 and 250. The closest bus stops are Brixton Water Lane and Bleinheim Gardens. These buses (and many other routes from Brixton town centre) also go to all parts of central London. From Herne Hill station (a 15-minute walk) there are trains to Blackfriars (12 minutes), a great option to reach the South Bank, Tate Modern, St Pauls and the City of London.

A large, bright space covers the entire ground floor. Fully equipped modern kitchen with a breakfast bar. French windows lead from the kitchen to a pretty patio with outdoor seating. Large dining table and further seating in a lounge area. There is also a Downstairs toilet. The kitchen has all of the mod cons including a dishwasher, washing machine, built-in oven, microwave and induction hob. Tea, coffee and kitchen essentials are provided.
You'll see from the pictures that it's a great place to relax after a long day of shopping, sightseeing or London business. It's got everything if you want to stay in and cook instead of eating out.
