Heaven Away From Home is a beautiful three bedroom and two and a half bath Southern-living cabin in one of the most sought out neighborhoods on Lake Martin, The Cascades At Sandy Creek. Nestled on a lush lot with amazing views of Lake Martin this cabin does not disappoint! Floor to ceiling stone wood burning fireplace, full size kitchen, large farmhouse table that seats eight comfortably, your own private dock, relaxing front porch with a rocking chair, screened in lakeside porch, two lakeside decks with enough seating to get the party started, large gas grill, community gazebo and swimming pool are just a few things that make this cabin TRULY Heaven Away From Home! We welcome your HOUSE TRAINED pet but you must include the pet in the reservation and pay the pet fee. Just be aware the house has steps going onto the porch and inside the house (2nd floor bedrooms). There are a few steps going to the front of the house and also several flights of steps from the house to the dock. The cabin has a flat screen TV in each bedroom and one in the great room with DISH TV. Hughesnet WiFi internet is also available for your use while visiting. Be aware the WIFI may be slow but we have the best available in the area. The living room has a leather couch with recliners on each end to greet you at the end of a full day swimming and fishing. On the other side of the living room is a two person rocking chair that has plenty of room to snuggle with someone you love on those cool fall nights while the natural log fireplace is roaring. Grab a cozy blanket (in basket) and enjoy! The living room also has a DVD player with many movies for the family to enjoy. There are also several family friendly games to keep the younger ones busy on lazy afternoons. The master bedroom has a stacked washer/dryer combo in a tidy laundry closet so you can do your laundry and not go home with a week's worth of dirty clothes. Also in the master bathroom is a nice walk-in shower and a large jetted tub. A large master closet has lots of extras for your use while visiting. Upstairs there are two separate bedrooms that share a large hallway bathroom with a soaker-tub/shower combo. The loft bedroom has two twin beds with a shelving unit for storage/clothing and a full size daybed for the perfect bunking party space! There is a privacy curtain that separate the twin beds from the daybed to give you the "feel" of two separate rooms. The second upstairs private bedroom has a queen bed and a dresser. Both rooms have a unique theme and luxury sheets and comforters. Everyone will have time to relax and decompress from the busy day of playing and having quality family time. No matter where you go in the house you are reminded that you are in a peaceful retreat. The lush, mature hardwoods drape the house and make you feel like a kid again. You truly feel sometimes as if you are in a treehouse :) From the stables at Kowaliga, visiting Toomer's Corner at Auburn University (and don't forget to grab a glass of famous Toomer's lemonade), renting a boat at any of the local marinas, eating at one of the amazing Lake Martin restaurants, going antique shopping at Angel's in Opelika, visiting Horseshoe Bend National Military, hiking at Smith Mountain and climbing the fire tower, or beautiful Cheaha State Park - the highest point in the State of Alabama (one of our favorite places!), a round of golf, or explore Chewacla State Park in Auburn, you will never get bored! With nearly 40,000 acres of some of the cleanest and most beautiful water in the country, Lake Martin is an anglers paradise. Species include largemouth bass and other bass varieties, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and some of the finest cool weather striped bass fishing anywhere! Bring your boat or rent one at the local marina. Heaven Away From Home is near beautiful New Water Farms so if you're looking to tie the knot, renew your vows, part of a wedding party that has already booked at New Water or hosting a bridal party, we are just a stone's throw from the gorgeous chapel. There is a Dollar General three minutes away on highway 49 and many restaurants within a ten minute drive or 20-30 minute boat ride - Niffer's Place, Oskars (famous cheese balls); Coppers Grill; Chucks Marina; and Table 34. Also this cozy house is only 40 minutes from Auburn's Jordan Hare Stadium. Birmingham is about one and one/half hour, Montgomery in just under one hour, and Atlanta is about two hours. Many golf course options are just a short drive away. *Please note: guests who book the cabin between mid October to mid April - Lake Martin is a man made lake and the water level begins to drop and forms the "Winter Pool". This means we will begin losing water at our dock during that time and the water will return to "Full Pool" around April 1. There is a boat ramp 4 miles from the cabin that is still at full pool for your boat or wave runner.
