Palomino Cottage by the Mooloolah River - Gubbi Gubbi Country | House in Mooloolah Valley

2 Bedroom House in Mooloolah Valley
Simple, newly renovated rural retreat for those who seek down time, for couples or families who enjoy animals and getting back to nature….. Palomino Cottage is comfortable and quiet, with a spacious verandah from which you can watch our horses and see them working. In the afternoon, you might prefer to take a glass of wine into the plunge pool with you and read a book or watch the birdlife coming in.. You are likely to see king parrots, lorikeets and kookaburras, along with occasional visits from cockatoos, galahs, egrets and wood ducks. The cottage is nestled on acreage that is working toward Land for Wildlife status. The property borders the Mooloolah River near its headwaters and is home to endangered wildlife and flora. Your dollars help with this work.
Palomino may be a country cottage but it has the comforts of home, including air conditioning and wifi. We are on filtered tank water and generate much of our own solar power. You have a full kitchen and an outdoor fire pit is wonderful for chilly evenings. Yor exclusive use area is fully fenced and there is a bigger picnic area with fire pit by the entry area.
The property has beehives, its own organic vegetable gardens and an orchard. Because the location is so close to the township of Mooloolah, you can easily walk or bike to an excellent bakery and several restaurants, as well as an IGA, a bottle shop and other services.
Guests at Palomino Cottage are asked not to use chemical cleaners or other products that might get into the treatment system for waste water. The property is eco-friendly, for the sake of our bees and wildlife. We also ask that your stay be peaceful, particularly at night.
Your retreat cottage is on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, which is equine leisure and eventing country as well as a premier wedding venue region. At nearby Mooloolah Valley Riding Centre, explore glorious mountains and rainforests on horseback. Bushwalking can take you into local National Parks. Within Dularcha National Park, there is a beautiful old railway tunnel built in 1892 which has great acoustics, if you are a singer or musician. The locals may pass through and are likely to sing along with you. It’s a pleasant hike from Mooloolah through the tunnel to Landsborough, the old regional centre before coastal Caloundra took over, with its glorious sandy beaches and renowned restaurants.
Palomino Cottage is just a short drive to Australia Zoo, home of the famous crocodile hunter Steve Irwin and his family. Aussie World is even closer, offering a theme park with great entertainment for families. Sea Life at Mooloolaba has amazing exhibits and shows from the ocean. You can play golf on world famous courses... visit the mysterious Glasshouse Mountains and learn about the local Aboriginal legends.
