Designed by Dick Knecht who has earned a reputation as one of the nation's foremost home designers from Aspen, Colorado, the open floor plan, floor to ceiling windows, decks and spacious screen porch lead to a feeling of being one with the outdoors. The main home has a luxurious master suite and kitchen, living, dining, den, pantry and huge deck for enjoying the views including direct views of Mount Rushmore. The tower, reminiscent of the fire tower on Black Elk (formerly Harney) Peak, contains a guest room with attached bathroom, sitting area, additional bathroom and kitchenette on the main floor. Take the charming spiral staircase to the 2nd floor with 4 bedrooms, each of which has a custom twin bed, and 3 of which have pull out trundles for extra sleeping space. The top floor is an observation deck, from which you can see 360 degrees of glorious views! Perfect place for evening cocktails! The home is located in Lakota Lake Encampment development, which consists of 80 acres of land abutting 1 million acres of National Forest. The home is within walking distance of Lakota Lake which is a pristine trophy trout lake also offering swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding! With views of Mt Rushmore from the many vantage points on the property and within one mile of Iron Creek hiking trail, this location is paradise!
