This is a cozy, traditional "north country house", only 80 meters from the sea. Includes use of wood-fired stump by the sea and possibility to moor boat below house. The house is over 100 years old and is located in a sunny area, in scenic surroundings, and a short distance up the mountain. And the place is perfect for families with children! This is a great starting point for mountain hikes, kayaking and boat trips, fishing, bike rides etc right outside the house wall.
The house is 8 km from the center of Leknes (10 minutes by car), located in the middle of Lofoten. At Leknes you will find the airport, shops, restaurants and most of the things you need. Located about 8 km from the town of Stamsund, which also has shops, pubs and restaurants. There you can take a boat, by "Hurtigruten" to, for example, Bodø or Svolvær.
A wood-fired hot tub is set up near the sea, so this can be used by guests upon request, but you have to arrange for yourself. Firewood for heating the house will be available, if additional heat is needed in addition to electric heating.
On cold days, the house may feel a bit cold, but after firing the heaters and firing in the oven, it will immediately be much better. On such days it may be okay to wear thick socks or the like inside the house. It is low under the roof (just over 2 meters), which one may think makes the house cozy and intimate, but one must be aware that some may have to bend as they walk through the door.
