An historic old Mission Hall converted to a luxury three bedroom retreat with the added bonus of all the mod cons! Set within the heart of the lovely village of High Roding, on the Uttlesford Tourist route and within close proximity to many places of interest and the pretty villages of this part of Essex, yet only 15 minutes from Stansted Airport, 5 minutes to the historic market town of Great Dunmow, 45 minutes to Cambridge or the Essex coast and an hour's drive from London. This is a newly converted former Victorian Church building creating a unique holiday home and luxury rural retreat. The large original front door opens into a big open plan double height lounge, dining room and kitchen all with oak floors and underfloor heating. High quality modern sofas nestle around the cosy wood burner set in the original brick fireplace and under Jam Jar chandeliers. As befitting a former church building the dining area has antique pew seating (for six) around a rustic dining table. In keeping with the Mission Hall's mix of period and contemporary styles the kitchen has modern gloss cabinets with integrated appliances, a range cooker and granite work surfaces with breakfast bar. On the ground floor there is also a twin bedroom, handy for those less mobile, and a WC. On the first floor, off the galleried landing, there are two good sized beamed bedrooms. The master is a large room with a glass Juliet balcony to the rear and dormer window to the side and has a dressing and seating area. There is a King sized Laura Ashley bed, french shabby chic type furniture and an ensuite tiled bathroom with freestanding bath. The second bedroom, with views to the side and front, has twin zip and link pocket sprung beds (can be converted to a kingsize), antique furniture and an ensuite shower room featuring a double sized glass shower with rainfall shower head. As well as the small front garden surrounded by a picket fence there is also a small private courtyard garden on two sides. Most villagers, and our guests, use the free off street residents car park a short walk away after loading and unloading on the road immediately outside. However, the friendly landlord of the village pub will also let you use his car park to the rear of the Old Mission Hall if you make use of his lovely pub! Our aim has been to create a luxurious rural retreat for discerning guests to appreciate and enjoy. Therefore all the beds have Egyptian cotton hotel type bedding, hypoallergenic mattress toppers, pillows and quilts and pocket sprung mattresses. The towels are white and fluffy and soaps, shower gel and shampoo are also provided. The kitchen comes fully equipped and the electric range cooker can cope with even the biggest turkey! For those that can't live without Wifi we provide free unlimited fibre broadband as well as a selection of board games for those that don't. For those who fancy a quiet read the village even has its very own free library housed in the old telephone box! A welcome pack of tea tray essentials, milk, butter, bread, local produce, a homemade cake and eggs from our free range hens awaits!
