Noted as one of Key West’s signature homes, the Octagon house located on Eaton Street in Old Town Key West was built circa 1897 for Richard Peacon.. For a time in the 1970s and 80s the home was owned by famous designer Angelo Donghia. His clients included Donald Trump, Diana Ross and Ralph Lauren. He sold the home in 1981 to designer Calvin Klein. This exquisite vacation home boasts huge verandas off the front of the home on the ground floor and second floor. Spend some time out here sipping your morning coffee and listening to the early morning sounds of our island. This island home welcomes is bright and inviting with colorful walls and island inspired artwork. Just a few blocks from famous Duval Street and the Historic Key West Seaport, this island gem is in a perfect location to enjoy the island like a local. From your island home you can bike or walk just about anywhere. There’s plenty of shopping and restaurants close by and the local grocery store, Fausto’s, is just a few blocks away. This remarkable home has soaring ceilings and fine wood finishings. There is a formal dining room that will seat 10 people. Adjacent to the dining room is a living room with large crescent shaped couch dotted with comfy pillows. The Bedrooms There is a master suite just off the dining room on the first floor. This suite has a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom with shower. Upstairs there are three additional bedrooms. There is another master suite upstairs with a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom with his and her sinks and an all glass shower. There is access to the upper veranda from the master suite bedroom and bathroom. There are two additional bedrooms on the second floor, each with a queen sized bed and plenty of storage. These bedrooms share a bathroom complete with modern fixtures and a tub / shower. The Amenities Take advantage of the updated and modern kitchen with marble counters and a center island complete with seating. Prepare your meals with ease on the 6-burner VIking gas range and enjoy dining in the formal dining area or just outside the kitchen doors in your backyard oasis. There is also a sound system throughout the house and grounds for your enjoyment. The Great Outdoors Just outside the double doors from the kitchen lies a relaxing covered porch complete with navy and white striped cushions perfect for lounging in the afternoons. Brick pathways lead around the home and back past the koi pond to the gem of this historic home, the pool area. Noted as being one of the deepest pools in Key West and large enough for all your guests to enjoy both day and evening. This will inevitably be a gathering place with plenty of lounge chairs for soaking up some Florida sunshine and a covered cabana complete with large flat screen TV and sound system along with comfortable bean bag chairs.
