We are currently repairing damage from hurricane Isaias and taking the opportunity to do some major remodeling. We are waiting for this work to be more complete before opening up for rentals. We do plan to rent the house for the 2021 season. If you are interested in renting for the 2021 season, contact me and I will add your name to the waiting list. This unique house is located directly on the beach on the quiet east end of this family friendly island, perfect for beach combing, walking, or just sitting on the deck enjoying the idyllic setting with incredible views and the calming effect of the tranquil ocean waters. Ocean Isle is situated on a protected stretch of the Atlantic coastline with a directly south-facing beach which keeps the ocean calm and the sun shining over the ocean from dawn to dusk. The house features an open design with a huge master bedroom with sitting area and futon, another large bedroom and a loft, all upstairs with balconies overlooking the two-story living room with two walls of top-to-bottom windows for incredible views of the ocean and Shallotte inlet. Downstairs features kitchen, living room, bathroom, and two small private bedrooms. About the treehouse: There are no large trees on Ocean Isle Beach so we trucked in 20 40-foot telephone poles, sunk them deep into the sand 10 feet apart, and built our tree house around them using pole frame construction. The poles are mostly exposed and obvious both inside and outside the house and give it a completely unique character. There are wooden floors throughout, except in the master bedroom which is carpeted. The spiral staircases are much larger than most factory-built ones and were designed and built from scratch by the Roberts family and the house itself was built by the Roberts family with their own hands and everybody pitching in. Every bedroom has access to a porch and there are both upstairs and downstairs decks on the ocean side of the house. We love spending time in this treehouse on the beach and we think you will, too.
