BHI Villa 43 'A La Mer' - Bald Head Island, North Carolina 28461 (Sleeps 6 max) BHI Villa 43 - A La Mer - has a panoramic view of the ocean from the LIVING/DINING/KITCHEN GREAT ROOM and from one of the master bedrooms. The view is spectacular. Sit on the sofa and watch the dolphins frolic in the water and patrol the ocean's edge. The sunsets are gorgeous! Due to recent concerns from the Corona virus and with respect to each family's needs and budget, club membership is optional. If interested, a BHI Lifestyle (includes golf access) membership is available through the Bald Head Island Club for an additional fee. Villa 43 is ideal and comfortable for 3 couples but works great for families as well. The villa has one master - THE VIEW Bedroom with a king bed/en-suite bathroom - fully renovated with oversized shower. There is a second master downstairs - the GUEST bedroom with a king bed and en suite bathroom. There is a third bedroom upstairs in the partially enclosed loft with 2 twin beds and a full bathroom. There is also an upper deck overlooking the ocean. Our kitchen and all 3 bathrooms were renovated in 2015/2016. All new appliances in April 2019! New living room and guest bedroom furniture in 2020. The open floor plan in the Kitchen/Dining/Living great room is comfortable and roomy. It allows everyone to socialize in the newly renovated and fully stocked kitchen. Our Villa is in a prime location on Bald Head Island. Only 1 mile from the ferry landing, we are also steps away from both the beach access and the Bald Head Island Club where golf, croquet, the pool, fitness center, children's' playground and dining is available. Our villa is well situated in the complex with a large lawn both behind and to the side of the villa providing lots of space to play ball and enjoy a gathering around the BBQ. To get around the island, Villa 43 has two golf carts. Both have enclosures to protect you from the rain which occasionally falls on Bald Head Island. Club membership to the Bald Head Island Club is optional at an additional price. (If interested, we will help you with this process.) Bald Head Island is on one of North Carolina's southernmost cape islands - Cape Fear. Bald Head Island is accessible only by passenger ferry or private boat. With no cars and no crowds, Bald Head Island preserves the natural beauty and stress-free lifestyle of a simpler time. The island is blessed with 14 miles of pristine beaches, thousands of acres of protected salt marshes, and a spectacular expanse of maritime forest. These qualities make Bald Head Island a one-of-a-kind destination. Bald Head Island beaches are legendary. North beach, frequently called 'Potato Beach' faces the Cape Fear River and the Creek Access. The water is brackish and there is no surf. Perfect for small children! West Beach runs along the Cape Fear River where it joins the ocean. From here, you get the best views of the ships sailing to Wilmington. The beaches at both South Beach and East Beach are extensive. When the surf is up on South Beach, East Beach is usually calm and vice versa. Beach goers can always 'catch a wave' on Bald Head. With more than 50+ beach accesses on Bald Head, there is always a "perfect spot'!
